For some reason , or another they seem to look not very balanced. In my opinion ,the tire stance is not very wide and it looks like the axel need to be brought a little more to the back. I wonder if it is prone to fishtailing. i would be reluctant to drive it faster then 55 m/h. I like to hear from owners who have experience towing a Scamp. Other then that it is a nice little trailer. I am looking for something I can tow with an EV.
@DayHikerFromTheSix10 сағат бұрын
Join the owners forums…you can ask people about their towing experiences. Scamp has been around a long time, and there are a lot of these 13’ boxes on the road. I always recommend interacting with current owners before buying an RV. Thanks for watching!

Carry a couple 5-gallon buckets and lids with you and just drain your black tank to the buckets ? Put them on a rear carrier rack til you can get rid of it

beautiful, everything thought of, but it's built for the super outdoors, deer hunter type. First class but wayyy to expensive. For my needs if I wanted that type I might go tent trailer. Beautiful though. The toilet/shower is perfect

Another good option for extended boondocking would be for them to offer a package that includes a composting toilet like the Airhead with the urine separator hooked up to the black tank and a solar hookup for keeping the batteries topped off.
@DayHikerFromTheSix2 күн бұрын
They do offer solar as an option. Scamp builds to order so they might accommodate most requests. Thanks for watching!

looks like a really nice product. I have to agree that the color scheme looks about 20 years old...but other than that, it is a really nice small trailer without a doubt. Prolite must be doing something right as I am seeing these units all over the place lately. Great review.

I would be okay with some of the doors missing but I would want doors on most of the cabinets. I would say in the kitchen, the two under the TV and the ones in the bathroom. I think the ones under the couch are fine as long as there is some netting.

Not a fan of awning style windows. The reason is I saw a young man, who was not paying attention, walk into one. Result was torn flesh on his shoulder and a broken window. Nope I'll take slider windows over awning.

Scamp has to get with the times a 12volt compressor Fridge / freezer and remove the roof mounted air conditioner, cause it is more about airo than weight as more people are getting EV's and this is the trend! OK Scamp when will we have this new model?

As fiberglass, lightweight trailers go, Scamp is the least expensive one we have seen so far. Keep in mind that they build to custom order, so the price varies depending on the options/features you choose, making it more flexible to your needs. Thanks for watching!

Thanks for showing this one. love that they have a dinette and murphy, but they really had to work to make it that heavy, they even left off the cab doors. We need more manufactures in the Rove Lite category with this floorplan and still lightweight.

Very comprehensive explanation. Well done. One oversight though. What about the weight of the fuel in the tank? 50L will add about 50kg or 110 lbs. As you rightly stated, payload is everything not from Toyota.

That $23K sticker by the door piqued my interest, but the lack of doors lost it for me. Those bungee nets lose their tautness after a while, in my opinion. I also did not like the furnace placement, and I never heard you mention A/C. But this is a great prototype, and I would like to see what the finished product is. The roof does need to be seamless, otherwise all the talk about water not getting in is wasted. Thanks for the video!

I have a lifted 4Runner running 295's with soft offroad suspension and highlift bumpers and really want to get one of these because I'm very weight limited but am worried about the tow height and having a drop down hitch always scrape. Is there anyway to get one of these with higher ground clearance and some bigger beefier tires? I know it's not an overland trailer and all.

I like the composite construction with the metal skin. Not so much a fan of doorless cabinets. I think having the furnace under the freezer is not the best place. There is space under the sink and stove. I have to replace a little widget in my heater that controls the flow of propane and access is important.

Safari Condo makes superb trailers. When I downsize one day, these are very high on my list. Just curious with the pop up roof, have you any concerns of leakage or water getting inside? Of course they have the solid roof option, but that is less aerodynamic. Other than that these are super complete. safe travels,...

We're going on 4 years with this trailer and have been under some really heavy downpours and have never had a leakage. We met 2 American couples this summer on our vacation and they have a 2006 and 2014 models and have never had a leakage problem! It's a proven design. You can join the Altoist Facebook group to get more details. Overall we love our Alto R1723 😀 Thanks for watching!

I like the look and functionality of this one, however I would like to see some doors here and there to hide and keep things secure. I’m not a fan of the Murphy beds, but this one having the alternate seating (dinette) helps. Having a dry bath in such a small trailer is a definite plus! I hope they have a choice of outside colors. I do like the color shown, but having different colors makes it a bit more personal touch. Thanks for showing us!!
