Then around 2006 I found another one at a hipster chain store called urban outfitters while waiting for my GF to try things on. I couldnt believe my eyes, an entire rack of brand new unissued west german coats! At urban outfitters of all places 😂. Id love to hear how they came across those being such a large chain. Obviously I bought it, and again by 2010 it was so used I had to trash it. Back in those days i was outside a lot during winter, and super rough on my jackets. I really want another one though since I collect gear, uniforms, guns and ammo, anything military related. Seriously one of the best winter jackets I ever had.

Lol stop it you numpty thats a kit bag it should have a flap at the top just inside the neack and a key shaped ring that goes through the four rings to make an enverlope closure then secured with a pad lock . Each Army corp Regerment had there owen way of marking them . Mine way on the bottom my corps Tack sign red over blue with a white letter A for my Battery my name and number stencilled in white on a black background . These would be used in the field to store your spear clothing in and kept with your troop storman in the troops Q Truck . When needed the storman can get it for you also they maybe moved on mass as unaccompanied baggage by the Corp of transport movers for sea or air transport

The NI packs made in 2006, 2007, 2008 and 2009 are of weaker quality. Before this they are stronger quality. Don't ask me why. Different company maybe. I've seen one from 1990! These are the strongest daysacks out there though!

Blast from the past!! I had that sweater issued in Marine boot camp here in the USA, They were very warm, but ran a little small, which probably makes sense since almost all modern performance gear needs to be close to the skin. It was itchy for me though though, not for others. If they made a Merino wool version today, I'd go buy it.

When you say "fits standard canteen..." which "standard canteen" are you talking about? I'm guessing the '58 pattern?
