Late to the party. Great video. I did see a mistake where you were forcing yourselves to stop pulling after getting three action tokens. Pg 5 of the rules under ACTION TOKEN state in red that the draw phase DOES NOT immediately end if you have 3 or more action tokens in front of you. Super fun and thematic game.
@OneBoardFamily15 күн бұрын
Yes. We caught that on a future play after this video. We had been stopping at 3 no matter what token type we hit 3 with. Action tokens can keep going.

I don;t understand why goods tokens are required if they are just going to convert to points 1:1 at the end of an epoch. Why not just award points right away? Why have an intermediary currency?
@OneBoardFamily26 күн бұрын
I can't speak for why it was designed this way, but in our experience, it's easy to look around the table and see who is accumulating crates. Thematically, your dock is receiving these crates from other players because they drafted these trader tiles. It never feels fiddily, but yes, they do end up getting traded in for the normal currency.
@cwaddleАй бұрын
Are 20 trader tiles used for a two player game or 3 or 4? if only 20 tiles are used for a 4 player game then on average players are going to pick one or two trader tiles which significantly dilute the benefits of owning the tile
@OneBoardFamilyАй бұрын
Only 20 trader tiles are used at all player counts. In our plays of the game with 4 players, not all players were willing to bid high when these tiles were on the auction block. If a player gets two trader tiles early in an Epoch, they're getting points for everyone else who earns these tiles. It's not a huge number of points, but getting them early in a long Epoch can be a nice boost.

Seems like it adds another layer of strategic decision making without over complicating what is already there. Also glad it doesn’t change the effect of the other tiles. Is this one being crowdfunded, or straight to retail?

Even though I'm a bit of an introvert, this game sounds incredibly fun to me. There are a couple of people in my friend group that I think might have the kind of anxiety that Erin experiences with it, but if we could get enough people together, they could avoid the spotlight part of the game.

We got the game a few days ago, yes the quality is not great, but the gameplay is awesome and it's cheap enough that I haven't minded working on upgrades. Sleeved the cards and loking into token caps from hobby store to cover the cardboard chits. 👍
@OneBoardFamily2 ай бұрын
@angelab8230 yes. The price point and gameplay has definitely taken the sting out of it. We're not sleeving the cards because we'll end up having to replace them one day. Spin Master has said they cannot replace the cards because they don't have any available. They just offer a couple other random games instead.
@gurnblanston28482 ай бұрын
I'm super excited for this one! My local Barnes & Noble didn't have any copies in when I checked, but they ordered one for me. I've read a few complaints online from people saying the components were cheap; I'm guessing they meant the punch out tokens that you said seemed a little flimsy. Do they look like they would fit inside plastic coin capsules? That might be a way to make them feel a little nicer.
@OneBoardFamily2 ай бұрын
@gurnblanston2848 Yeah, those will definitely go into coin capsules. They are essentially thick cardstock. I recently opened the Fallout Factions game and those tokens are more than a 1/4 inch thick. These might be the thinest tokens I've seen in a long time.

Great review of a great game! I love this game so much I went out and bought 2 boards. Yes I had an issue with the pegs slightly leaning on both boards but this is what makes each board challenging and different. When I contacted the company they got back to me right away and told me how I could correct the issue. Everyone I introduced this game to has loved it to the point it can become addicting. Just a side note, tell your parents I said hi. We went to HS together and I played music with your Dad.

I was really excited at first and went to the site and even signed up for the discount. But then I went to the comments section on the Biñho site and just about 50% of the comments were complaints or issue with quality control. Everything from the paint wearing off very quickly to pegs being bent or crooked, to score track being out of line with pegs or illegible or lack of customer service interaction to the most complaints of the plastic goal not fitting properly and always falling when someone scored a goal. Of course there were others who either had no issues or didn’t write them in their review. I’m sure the people behind the company are nice/great people, but I’m really hoping they can address these issues and put out a more consistent quality product. I really want to play this and think they have a great game but I really don’t want to spend $100+ dollars on a product with that many issues.
@OneBoardFamily3 ай бұрын
Thanks for sharing that. I haven't looked at the reviews on the site and have only gone from the 7 or 8 people I know who have a board. I know one of my friends had a little issue with the paint that you mentioned. The quality of the pins surprise me that they would bend. I've been carrying the game around using the box, and I appreciate the space in the box to store it without messing anything up. The plastic goals do pop up from time to time, which could be improved. Thanks for sharing Ryan. The people I've interacted with at Biñho have been solid, so I hope these people are getting taken care of.
@ryanmiddleton63353 ай бұрын
@@OneBoardFamily Yeah I just think it’s something g people should at least be aware of so they can make an informed purchase. My intent is not to trash Biñho boards or their company as I think their idea is awesome and I really want one but for me personally there is still too much unknown and not enough consistency for the price. As far as the bent pegs, one person mentioned an actual bent peg. Most others who talked about it said the hole drilled for the peg was not drilled straight causing the peg to lean. I’m glad to hear they are wonderful people and I hope they can address some of these issues and bring quality consistency up. My guess is that right now they are probably a small company but maybe if they had the opportunity to grow that could help? Who knows. I hope you enjoy your board and get some great experiences playing it. Who knows, I may get one one day but I think I will hold off for now unfortunately. Too many other crowdfunded games I’m waiting on ;)

Hey Ryan! As a new company, manufacturing a new dexterity with so many different types of materials, we have had our share of QC issues over the years.
