i was bullied for being conventionally attractive too... and for being naturally thin. people just assumed i was the b word for no reason... yeah i get it. lol, i got fired from a job i was doing great at recently because the other girls were jealous. yeah this does happen and there's a double standard. not being liked and being thought of to be a b word when someone refuses to get to know me sucks, regardless of being attractive. keep making this content.

Thank you for sharing, it's so frustrating how common this is. I'm sorry you went through that, and I appreciate the encouragement. 💛

the insecure one is the one who cares about their looks and how other people view them
@LeanzyPeterson8 күн бұрын
@@elijahcaufield9621 this comment perfectly encompasses the point of this video. This isn’t about seeking validation for how I look. It’s about exploring the unique challenges that come with being judged or excluded based on others' insecurities. Caring about how people perceive you doesn’t make someone insecure, it makes them human. It’s okay to acknowledge the hurt that comes from being misunderstood or left out, and that doesn’t take away from anyone else’s experiences.

These are all fine points, and perhaps I'm just getting older. But i can't help but think that short form content tends to have deleterious effects on society. I have similar issues with Twitter. When you are forced to condense all thought down into easily digestible bits, there is no room for detail or nuance in that content. But also here i am watching shorts do I don't know how much room i have to talk. I am torn on the ban. But I did find your perspective interesting
@LeanzyPeterson11 күн бұрын
@@georgelilly1847 While I’m not personally a fan of short-form content, especially as someone who works in film and values the art of long-form storytelling, I think it’s important to step back and examine the bigger picture. Why is TikTok, a platform that, like all media, has both pros and cons… facing such disproportionate scrutiny when other forms of media that have already commodified our identities remain untouched? It’s like when television first emerged, it was met with similar resistance, with people claiming it would rot our brains and destroy meaningful human interaction. Now, we celebrate television as one of the greatest tools for storytelling and education. Thank you for watching and sharing your perspective! 💜

I'm not allowed to have tik tok

Those are valid points, unfortunately you did not address the reason for the ban. The ccp can access any users data as well as push propaganda to people, especially children. You guys can say it does not but I can guarantee you it does, take a look at how skewed the content is in the russia Ukraine war, Russian content gets ballooned while Ukraine content gets ignored. I have interviewed some people who use Tiktok as their information source on the war and they lack any basic understanding of the war but continue to believe in what they are told.

Those are fair points, but banning TikTok doesn’t solve the bigger problem. Every platform- Facebook, Instagram , KZbin, Twitter collects user data and pushes certain narratives. TikTok isn’t special in that sense; it’s a tech industry issue. And my point here is people forget is this ban doesn’t just hurt influencers. TikTok has given small businesses, educators, and marginalized voices a real shot at being heard. We should focus on holding all platforms accountable. The real issue is the system, not just TikTok.

Why would your friend need to carry the weight of her 50 employees' financials?
@LeanzyPeterson11 күн бұрын
Because as a business owner, her employees relied on their paychecks to cover essentials like rent, bills, and groceries, their livelihoods were tied to the success of her business. Unemployment benefits may offer temporary relief, but they only cover a fraction of regular income and can’t replace the stability or security a steady paycheck provides.
