Good video but very low voice. Can you make something on how to connect domains from CLoudways instead of AWS to be redirected to saas application

The whole point of these cloud providers is to obfuscate the true cost. And they make implementing the components simple, so the last thing on anyone's mind is cost and ease of use. They also don't have the costs of a solution or an implementation of a product. You should be able to select every component of a product and get the price. If you have a service that runs on EKS and uses S3 and Redshift, secrets manager, and a lambda function to rotate keys, blah, blah, blah... I should be able to plug all of that into one cost calculator.

These days there is an even better option than generating the systemd services manually. Use quadlets and you create a file that podman will dynamically build the systemd files from. Kind of like a systemd formatted compose file.

ok well this is new that these tools can have some kind of APIs to connect to the services and resources running in your cloud environment and we can communicate with Gemini or for reference any other AI tools with our actual running environments for security and other suggestions/improvements . Interesting times ahead !

It is going to be super interesting next years, but could be cool too if GCP, AWS and Azure are more a cloud company and less a OpenAI clone. But again I love what it is happening with AI but maybe it is too much AI these days

Very informative. I tried to create a GCP GKE auto pilot cluster with a shared VPC private subnets, but I’m getting this exception while the auto pilot cluster deploying in gcp as “Error: Error waiting for creating GKE cluster: All cluster resources were brought up, but: only 0 nodes out of 1 have registered; cluster may be unhealthy.” Any helpful suggestions to overcome this exception scenario ?

it's crazy that you are the only one that shows what to do, even the obnoxious video tutorials from Google themselves and the so many docs pages I went through, don't even mention that you need to configure those settings. this is so amazing, thank you so much.

Poor linkerd, it got its own svcLB now and you can use Envoy as a traffic manager/gateway so almost all of the downsides it had has evaporated though it does increase the latency and resource overhead but those are basically the same as the other solutions.

For the love of god I don't understand why they didn't offer scale to zero to compete with Cloud Run, this pissed me off in a big way.
@fshalor7384 ай бұрын
While I like cloudrun, it's a PITA to use in internal Private VPC networks as a backend not publickly available. That said, Scale-To-Zero with apps which have huge cold start costs means I would never expect something to be running the containers I've been given to run to actually scale to zero. The way Apprunner charges at min is low too, the other features don't get billed if there's no requests as I've seen. I think it's viable for some things, and the integration, and not having to fiddle with stuff if you just need a URL to CNAME to a THING is solid. Just not for enterprises who require clean and careful control on all FQDNs.

I really like how podman does things, but I really miss docker compose. I mean, this makes perfectly sense as podman was initiated by RedHat as a substitution of docker in big cluster-like infrastructure (like with k8s and stuff) and not for tiny businesses and individuals that want to run a few containers on a VPS. In these k8s-type scenarios there's simply no need for a tool like docker compose. Yeah, there's podman-compose, but it's simply not as advanced as docker compose and purely community driven (as far as I understood it) so I am not sure how future proof that will be as it seems podman is usually preferred in real DevOp scenarios and not by the broad mass. It's simply not proctical for deploying stuff on my single machine homelab or my small business server. Fortunately, there's docker rootless nowadays, which get's rid of the ugly root problem (which is one of the main issues people had with docker). I'm not sure about why people complain about the deamon-thing. To me running a rootless deamon doesn't seem to be a big deal.
