I have St Lucian relatives, Haitian and St Kitts relatives and we speak together with no issues, a few years ago i meet a older woman watch me and my brother speak the creole and laughed, so we ask her if she was St. Lucian, she stated she's from Trinindad and that her island have over 1million Creole speakers but they hide it from the public fearing the US govt would placed embargo on their country like they did to haiti... we were shocked to hear that this Creole was just as popular back in the 1800s through late 1900s like how the hispanics speak spanish in PR, CUBA, and many other Latin American people..The language was the center of the western Hemisphere but the European put a stop to it by oppressing more Trini natives and other Caribbean West indie indigenous people.
