I fucking LOVE Roller - I can think of two albums that came out around the same time that might beat it, but I don't think they were the same year, making this the best album I heard that year. It's slower than most of what I listen to, but it has a subtle finesse and the same time as an overall rough-in-an-intended-way feel, very rare combination. Love the religious references (most of which I can;t discern the religion of, if it's not an invented one. And then there is the incredible "Death Won't leave us now". While not a true mondegreen (all words correct, just intentionally misinterpreted), at the chorus I imagine some chick dressed like Morticia, at home (with a family porterait in the background showing her and a skeletal figure and their kids, She pours a bucket of chemical slime over herself, and seeing her husband approaching the door, picks up the bottle of blood and a dead rat (helled by tai). Husband/Grim reaper opens the door "I'm home, what's for di---" (notices her) "HUBBA HUBBA!!" (in thought bubble over the wife's head: "Awwww yeah! Death won't leave us now! But yeah, I really dig this style of music, instrumentals written appropriately for the apparent artistic intent, lyrical content well above the quality I expect from the genre (I could do with a little less referencing of suicide, but like, you don't notice that until you're really stufying the lyrics, and the impacted songs aren't the real gems) Can't wait for another album to come out, or a tour to come to the Boston MA, US area. A++ metal band
