WOW! This looks amazing. Is this the master series kit? If not, will you ever release plans or a vid on how you made a smooth A-10?
@cabmantimАй бұрын
Thank you! This is my version of the master series A10, completely redesigned by me for a more realistic look. Im sorry i dont have plans

Yes my friend, you are absolutely correct on all counts. The video does not do it justice for end result!! I'll be glad to send you some pics when I get home for better reference. There are a couple of valves to make so there's no back flow. Above everything watch your weight and weight distribution!! Feel free to msg me directly if you wish.

I just 3D printed, an incredibly scale 3D lab print Fairchild Republic A10. Everything is incredibly scale. The one thing I want to add more than anything is the GAU8. A simulated one like this. It looks like you are just using a brushless motor, with a servo horn, that reciprocates a plunger with a vertical fed powder chamber, out to a scale looking set of barrels? And then also, you have a piece of rubber or fuel tubing, that slaps into a solid object to simulate the sound. Does that sound about right? The only thing, I guess you would need to incorporate a secondary lipo battery with ESC to control the whole thing.

@@cabmantim thank you sir! Very awesome! I'm also guessing the valving you are talking about, is a one-way check valve?

Hi Tim,I was admiring your 'rivet tool' and was thinking that if you flattened the points of the pins a bit you may get a better looking rivet head . I am a retired aircraft structures mechanic (sheet metal worker/tin basher ) Thanks again for sharing your skill .

Thanks a lot on the tip on adhesives and I will remember not to follow instructions to the letter but follow your good advise .I love your idea for rivet lines and here I will advise you in turn , next time anybody tells that those small perferations weaken the stucture , just ask them why toilet paper never tears on the perferrations.Thank you again and please keep postign those good ideas and builds.

I absolutely love your mods , the craftmanship is truly amazing . What puzles me is , how do you get your planes ballanced . I normaly end up with a ton of lead in the nose ,I could not see any on your P47 .Again super work
@cabmantim2 жыл бұрын
Thank you Stan. I concentrate all my efforts weight wise on keeping the tail as light as possible. I also use expanding polyurethane glues instead of hot glues. It has a small impact as well on weight reduction. Remember to always keep your electronics as far forward as possible, even the servos. even a cm or two forward can save many grams in the nose. For some plans it is inevitable that nose weight will have to be added. Thanks again and best of luck!

Hello cabmantim , I will soon be buying the FT Corsair speed build kit (out of box) but like some of your mods on your Olathe . One of the mods that impressed me was the fitting of 4mm dowelling onto the leading edge to make it more aerodynamically efficient . do you actually cover that with tape then paint over ? By the way , love that paint job
@cabmantim2 жыл бұрын
Hi Mike. Thank you. Yes I used some paper labels from an office supply and just painted over them.

I completed the ft corsair and tested it today. There is a problem. After throwing it by hand, the aircraft quickly turned to the left and crashed. What's the problem? And, after the fall, the front part of the fuselage was severed. This part seems weak. Thank you for your ideas and advice on the phenomenon that the aircraft does not go out horizontally and bends to the left.

I learned a lot. I was particularly impressed with the method of attaching circular balsa wood to the wing to generate lift.

Its a skewer on the leading edge more for strength and asthetics.

This is a fantastic idea! My first thought for a model was to use a tiny pulse jet, which would be easy to make, but dangerous to use. A powder gun seems like the best way to replicate the effect.
