Love this tent but its not no backpacking tent unless you like carrying 5 times the weight, pisses me off kelty is too cheap to give a footprint with the tent . For the price of this one you might as well buy a better tent, question 😂why the hell did you slide the poles through the clip ons ?? Lmao i don't think i ever seen anyone make this tent harder to set up 😂😂😂😂😂

You don’t mention which direction you are going, what time of year.

MAN you really missed the best part. Only a very short way from the summit is the best view on the trail. About 100 yards from that is the Priest Shelter, one of the best shelters on the trail. I do not think you stayed on the trail at the end of your video, if you want to check out what you missed come in from the Crab Tree area, Do not hike from the falls area, drive up Crap Tree meadow road all the way to the top of the mountain ridge. Park there and take the A.T. to your left up to the Shelter. If you did not see the shelter and the view near there you surly missed the best part.

Just subbed your channel to support a fellow KZbin vlogger and hiker out there. I came across your video in doing research for Terrapin Mountain. Several of my KZbin friends have recommended this hike. Thanks for taking us along with you.

Pop each end into the pole sleeves leaving the tent body flat. Then raise it. No need to feed it thru as an older conventional tent

I live in Lynchburg and any time some one asks for a suggestion on where to hike this is my first response. Been doing that hike for over 30 years. Been up there more times than I can count.

I've had it recommended to me multiple times. I was very glad I was finally able to go out there.

You think that was hard, try doing it counter clock wise. Reed creek as full as I have seen it for a long time. I took my mountain bike and left it at camping gap then drove back to the trail head and and did the straight up the mountain hike. At camping gap got on the bike and rode down hunting creek road and back around to the trail head. I call it hike and bike. Hard but fun when its done.

Hey, great video. Darn straight that's a rough walk. Looks like you had a lot more water there than when I went a few years back. Mount Rogers is every bit of 2-3 days I could stay there for a week, you will love it.

It is an easier hike without all the rain. Obviously but still difficult. Also, I recommend always bringing a water filtration system even on day hikes so that you’ll never run into an issue like this again.

Yeah, I'm slowly procuring all the real equipment I need. Luckily, I had that second water bottle that didn't feel like running away.
