Can you do a cover of Petes new tune ‘Felt better alive ‘ please ?
@wattoswfc10 күн бұрын
if i was to do an acoustic cover with only chords what would be the best chords to use?
@twangtuition10 күн бұрын
Hi, that's a great question! It's based around a D major key, so you'd start on a D major chord. The main verse sequence would be D, D/C#, Bm, A, then repeat this sequence. Then G for 4 bars, and that's basically then repeated through the song. Hope all goes well!

THis is awesome do you have any tips for finger pick riffing like you do here exquisitely between chords?
@twangtuition3 ай бұрын
@@BenjaminThomasOrf Hi Ben, many thanks for the message! If you experiment with the open strings underneath the chords, for example I tend to hammer on with my 2nd and 3rd fingers whilst playing a C or a G chord which gives some nice little runs. I think I'll do a separate tutorial on this as it's quite difficult to explain in words. Watch out for it in the next few weeks! Thanks once again Paul

hi! i like the idea here- but the original song is half a step down in tuning from what you do here- the first bass note is a C# not a D for example. It sounds good though what you have done here
@twangtuition8 ай бұрын
Hi, many thanks for your comment! Yes I am aware the original is tuned down a semitone, I just wanted to create a 'pick up and play' version if you like. I know some guitarists aren't keen on changing the tuning back and forth and so this works both ways! Thanks once again and all the best! Paul

Well done, might I suggest the intro run down would have more gravitas if done on the 6th string 3rd fret, second fret then open. Also rather than move the third finger when playing the C chord, simply do a 'full' C chord that's to say little finger used on 3rd fret 5th string and middle finger 3rd fret 6th string. No need to move fingers to play root & fifth. Keep up the good work. Which part of the North are you from?
@twangtuition11 ай бұрын
Well I've merely copied the original intro Mike, where the rundown is definitely played on the 4th string. I do however play the rundown you're suggesting during the chorus (same notes but an octave lower on the 6th string). I do agree, on the C chord you could play as a full C/G and alternate between the 2 strings as you say. Thanks for the comments and please spread the word! I'm from Leeds by the way!

Progress is slow but steady in transitioning from the initial 3 major chords. At first not sure I would be able to make smooth transitions (frustrating), but kept practicing and developing neurological/muscle memory regarding proper placement of fingers. Don't mind slow development. Not in a rush. Nice to experience the progress. Now starting to work on the three minor chords.
@twangtuition11 ай бұрын
Thanks for the update Richard, and you're absolutely right, steady progress and patience is the key. Chord changes are the hardest thing you'll come up against as a new guitarist. All the best Paul
