It's the overhead pan storage rack and garbage hatch on the counter that do it for me. My house was built in 1945 and the kitchen has a similar footprint to this masterpiece. However, it has been clearly remodeled at some point. This video makes me wonder what kind of whimsical efficiencies were sacrificed to that end.

1941 - wow. That bread storage drawer is a major vermin attractor 😂 Then when the lady rests, she sits down mere feet from where she worked 😅is this 1941? I think more mid 50’s - I doubt that dishwashers were around. This lady spends too much time in the same 120 sq feet - even writing her letters. Maybe people didn’t listen to music very often in those times - I could enjoy this better without the music- it just takes over the whole presentation.

Americans, post-war, had clarity of thought and this astounding sense of being smart and efficient. An apt place for everything and everything in its place. What i don't understand is, how come yonder the pond in Great Britain, their cousins decided to install washing machine in kitchen? Fresh laundry near gravy?! Good grief! They had add-ons to these appliances 100 years ago that I wish we had today! All this time, and the basic kitchen appliances have improved very little if at all.
