This session was incredibly insightful. As someone who typically favors jotting down notes manually, I was fascinated by the modern techniques introduced for digital note-taking which is Microsoft OneNote. The Math tool particularly stood out, as it effortlessly converts complex equations into neatly formatted equations. One more amazing thing is you can collaborate one Microsoft product into the another one. Moreover, there is a Transcribe feature wherein one can take all the dictated notes without any manual intervention. I’m eager to implement these strategies into my day-to-day work activities. A big thank you to the OIT team and Amanda for delivering such an enlightening session!!

I truly enjoyed this tutorial on using OneNote! As someone who has engaged in many group projects during my time at UTD, I found OneNote's Share With Meeting and Tags features to be quite useful. I love how specific meeting details, such as date, people involved, and action items, can be stored in a readable format that can always be revisited by group members. Furthermore, I appreciate that I can use tags to mark action items to keep myself and my project team organized. Overall, OneNote is an excellent tool for collaboration and notetaking that I will be sure to utilize more in the future!

Wow, I just learned about the 'Stickers' feature in OneNote from this video, and it’s such a game-changer for organizing notes! I never realized how much fun and effective it could be to use stickers to categorize tasks, highlight priorities, or even just add a bit of creativity to my notes. This makes note-taking so much more engaging and visually appealing. Thanks for sharing this tip-it’s definitely going to improve my productivity and make my notes more organized! 😊- Akshil Makwana

Thank you for this tutorial! I didn’t know what One Note was before, but now I understand how it’s a great note taking resource! - I thought the math conversions was really unique and useful tool that would help bout taking. - I thought it was interesting how Microsoft forms and one note could be used together by inserting forms, and how useful One note can be for agendas and meetings - The shortcut of making tables using tab for columns and enter for rows was a very useful tip

Great tutorial! I haven't found myself needing to use OneNote's scheduling features too often; however, it's pretty cool to know that it can be used to keep meeting records. I also like that I can seamlessly share notes with my friends with the click of a button and view the revision history. In addition, the ability to embed audio and videos will allow me to take my notetaking to the next level. Before watching this video, I didn't know it was possible to change the color of individual pages to colors other than white or black. I also wanted to share my own little tidbit: if you use the desktop version of OneNote, you can change the size of the page using Paper Size (I typically into the search bar to access this). This makes it easier to print notes or homework on letter/printer paper!

This tutorial of how to use the OneNote effectively, I did enjoy learning some of the features can be used in the classroom as a student. Like recording a lecture and adding a video to your Digital notebook. The immersive reader feature is very handy as it a good way to include people of disabilities to read the notes. The math feature is handy as it can show you how to solve the problem and offer quizzes.

This tutorial completely changed my view on OneNote. Before, I would turn away from the software because it seemed "complicated" and I resorted to other solutions. However, after seeing the organizational and note-taking capabilities that it contains, I can't help but want to integrate it into my workflow. As an engineering student, the capabilities of labeling, coloring, and sorting would really help me keep information organized between my courses. I definitely look forward to working with OneNote and other Microsoft products!

Even though I have used OneNote before, I learned a few more tips and tricks. For example, I didn't know you can bring any schedule information so that your OneNote can be a planner and add tags to these schedules for quick reference. I also didn't know immersive reader to customize your reading of the text and translate text. I also didn't know that OneNote has a some version control feature like Github. There are a few more features I did not know, but these are some of the most surprising features I did not know. Overall, I learn some new tricks and may use these features in my future.

I like how I can click on any where on the one note and write notes, I don't have to click on the very left side of the document or "notebook" to write notes The math assistant is so cool! Being able to draw an equation, fixing it, and then being able to test it out such as making graphs is something I will use in the future. OneNote having a feature for people with disabilities is feature that many companies over look and even something I have overlooked, its the small features such as changing the font in immersive reading, the color, or the size make OneNote worth it The "parts of speech" in the immersive reading part is very extra but something I will definitely use to know where the nouns, verbs, etc are since English is not my first language The acessability feature would be great for professors that talk fast and I am not able to type everything, also I didn't know that you can add periods and commas by saying the actual word.

My go-to note taking application during class is OneNote! I love using it but all I've ever done is handwrite notes. My calculus class requires me to constantly draw graphs and sometimes I slow down because I am manually drawing them. I didn't know I could just write an equation and have the graph made by OneNote. I really love how it keeps everything organized - I can have different notebooks for different semesters with multiple sections for different classes with a lighter backpack! Thank you OIT for this session!

Translating languages in immersive reader is also an impressive feature, I will definitely be using it the next time I am learning a new language. Viewing version history of the pages, dictate feature, the audio recording and the tab shortcut to create tables are all very helpful tips that I hope to use for my classes from this semester on! Thank you for such an insightful video!

This tutorial has been incredibly informative. I regret not discovering this application sooner, as it seems extremely useful and could have saved me money on paid note-taking apps. Reflecting on my struggles with keeping organized notes during my Calculus classes, I think this would have been the perfect solution. I usually dislike having to use multiple platforms for different functions, but OneNote eliminates that issue by integrating journaling, note-taking, and planning into a single platform, truly living up to its name. I thought it couldn’t get any better, but the Immersive Reader feature is a thoughtful and valuable addition. I also appreciate the audio recording option, which I believe would be particularly helpful for organizing presentations.

I've been using OneNote for years to take notes for class, but this presentation has showed me even more things i can do in OneNote. I have never shared a notebook with others, and didn't really know you could do that! I'm glad to see all the accessibility features, even if I don't personally use them One of the things that caught my eye was the math function. I've been having to juggle between writing down examples on paper and writing notes on my PC, but if I had a touchscreen, i can just jot it down. I wish I had a Microsoft surface, because my laptop doesn't have a touchscreen. I would love to use dictation, although in a classroom, it would be distracting to talk to my computer for notes haha. Also had no clue about the sub page feature! I'll have to use that more.

-The graph conversion is so cool. Didn't realize that was even an option. Much better than shoddily handrawing a graph! -The meeting planning functionality makes so much sense. It is a struggle to organize meetings and the discussions generally, esp because information can all over the place, but this really streamlines everything. Love how you can just choose the meeting and the details + invitees fill in. And keeps it all in once place without having to bring in other information from various sources the conventional way. -I find the subpages and tabs aspect useful for me personally! Rather than making a new notebook each time! Didn't realize that was an option. -Being able to add the audio as well as the accessibility immersive reading, I can see how that would be immensely useful. Overall, text/video/audio/drawings/tables/charts, a variety of information being condensed into one location while still being organized is a plus for me. I can see how this would extra useful to me working with team members. Everyone has access to one "notebook" and no one is going to email me asking "where is the info on this?", "Where is the link to that?"

As someone who has prior experience with Microsoft OneNote, this video serves as a fantastic refresher and even provided insights that I previously didn't know! One point that interested me in particular are the great accessibility features! Although at face value these features may not be beneficial to users without disabilities, through the principle of universal design, a better experience is also created for all users due to the nature of inclusive design. While I generally take notes with pen and paper, the selection feature in conjunction with the drawing utility will provide great value to me as it will allow me to still handwrite notes on a digitizer while having the benefit of faster digital transcription of notes. Furthermore, OneNote's inherant ease of shareability and meeting details feature will allow for greater collaboration with team members (fellowships) in the future!
