to anyone who might want to use fishing wire for this: fishing wire is serrated and INCREDIBLY strong! please don't use fishing wire for jewelry! at minimum you might get some irritation from it but you could possibly seriously hurt yourself.

Just paint them with uv nail Polish or cover them in an iridescent mica powder and then resell resin them 🧚♀️🩷

I get using a cheaper glue for wall hangings, but how well did that hold up being that it's a more watery glue and made for school projects... ? Love this
@justjudie16 күн бұрын
It actually held up pretty well! I used a lot of glue and there's zero foot traffic on the piece soooo there's no reason for it to fall apart. Maybe check back in with me in like 10 years lol

I love how there is such a variety of projects on your channel. You are chasing your whimsy and it's super fun! I also hate black linings - can't find anything!! When I make purses, I always sew on D rings to the corners that way I can switch out the straps anytime I want to.

You're too kind 🥰 thank you!! Also, love the D ring idea! I can never make up my mind when it comes to the strap!

I just spent 2hrs cutting & sewing prototypes for this style of hat from memory, no measuring or pattern. Couldn’t think what I was doing wrong so gave up & just looked up patterns & tutorials. This video popped up & turns out I was doing it right the entire time & I just don’t actually like this style hat 😂
@justjudie16 күн бұрын
Stooop 😂 I feel you lol i don't like most of the cloths i make from scratch but i spend hours and hours trying to make it work. at some point i just need to accept that a certain style just doesn't fit my body type. RIP 💀

Love the idea of using elastic for comfort 🤗 Be aware that it’ll yellow over time, the fishing line will stay clear

I would like to see how you attempt to make the spider web necklace. I do think that using a syringe could help make the tiny drops. Also, you could draw the pattern or thigh the string or the elastic cord you used and then it'd be easier to follow and get the same design. Because the spider makes the web and then the rain drops.

Ooh that's a great idea! I'll definitely give it a try!

Thank you for this tutorial. You've given me the courage to try. I've been wanting to make these forever. I have a pair of fig earrings that I've had for years. They are thin pieces of fig cut lengthwise so the inside red fleshy part is visible and really pretty. The issue for me has been trying to figure out how to cut them really thin without squashing them. Do you find that working with resin epoxy requires a respirator? I do see some wearing these. I'm curious how stinky or toxic do you think this stuff is to breathe in?
@justjudie27 күн бұрын
I ran into the same issue!! I've tried making earrings with peppers but cutting them into thin slices was next to impossible. I ended up putting it in the freezer so it can harden a little before cutting it with a REALLY sharp knife. If you find a better way to do it, please let me know!!! Also, I think epoxy resin is different from what I'm using. The one I have is a simple pour and cure but epoxy resin seems to be 2 liquids you mix to get one. My personal rule of thumb is if you need to mix liquids, always wear a respirator cause you don't know what kind of reaction will happen. With my bottle of resin, I skip on the respirator but definitely work with the windows open lol I hope that helps 💕

Try using painter's tape (green masking tape) or take you regular masking tape and stick it to a piece of fabric and remove a couple of time so some lint sticks to it making it less sticky and allows you to remove it from paper without ripping the paper.

Great use of yarn. Is this different than embroidery or would it be the same effect?
@justjudie2 ай бұрын
I'm unsure as I've never embroidered before but I'd say the effect would be similar. I think it really comes down to the thickness of your thread/ yarn.

you could make the pocket a trapezoid (wider at the bottom) instead of a rectangle and that would increase your storage capacity a bit more
