Just love how you have to look up this student moderator's nostrils as the first impression on this video. Not to mention audio volume is set way too low. Clueless at Cambridge, per usual.

where do you take into account the wish of the ukrainian people to go the european way instead of the russian? the wish for free elections, a somewhat democratic society, freedom of speech etc.? the dislike for autoritarian structures like we see them in russia since putin had been consolidating his leadership and power? is this something to completely dismiss in the evaluation and analysis of this conflict? this is a rethorical question by the way...

Here is the thing- apart from all the other aspects of the Post Office scandal the role of Lord Neuberger in the Recusal seems to have escaped attention. I have therefore pasted the following ‘The role of Lord Neuberger in the recusal fiasco (Justice Fraser) should be investigated’ on as many KZbin articles as I could, about ten, but when I checked to see if there was any response I discovered they had all been taken down This Kafkaesque episode staggers one at every turn, even when Big brother has been outed he seems to be still working away! I really want to know why Lord Neuberger interfered , if the recusal had succeeded the whole noble attempt at taking on the stinking system would have failed

Didn't expect that from an actual professor. Very disappointed. 1) Expansion is souverin countries deciding what alliances to enter by polular vore. 2) Probably 80% of Russian elites, including military/police, has EU and American 2nd citizenships, and hiding their stolen money there. Those 2 facts brreak any speaking point like the one in the video 8f you think of them somewhat deeply. P.S. Hitler was also saying he had been provoked.

He is lying, the NATO expansion is very real, not Putin's imagination. As America, he doesn't want a military threat on his border. A bully? Probably, but not a fantasist.

Professor os absolutely clueless about what is going on in Ukraine. Russia didn't start it because pf its fear of NATO. In 2014 Ukraine was neutral with the neutral status written in its Constitution. That didn't atop russia from annexing Crimea and starting war in Donbas. Neither did the Bidapest Memorandum, by the way.

I was a big fan of Pinker-especially liked “The Blank Slate”-but (possibly influenced by obnoxious optimist Hans Rosling) he became a kind of cornucopian and when asked about global warming, came out with the following gem: “Humans are smart-we’ll figure something out.” More in line with the evidence: “We’re too dumb to stop it, we’ll just have to adapt”. Same kind of thing on display here. He starts off with reams of nonsense: “value of human life [except Donbass separatists evidently], no trigger that one can identify, proximal cause, control of media/information, particularly deranged, disingenuously predicted, scofflaw, middle finger, economic disaster, will regret, changing mind, face-saving exit”-all revealed as just projection of Western arrogance onto the necessary and manufactured enemy. And no mention of the role of money-evidently doesn’t enter into his thinking. Pinker should read some whodunits: “Follow the money!” (for which a good evolutionary argument can be made). At 14:05 he says “We’re very tempting targets to microorganisms-big chunks of meat there for the eating.” Too bad he couldn’t make the connection and realize that Russia is a very tempting target to the West-a big chunk of resources there for the exploiting. And during the 90s, they were doing just that. Read the NIH article “Life expectancy of Russian men falls to 58”. Putin brought Russia back from the dead. That’s why the West hates him and why he’s so popular in Russia. Pinker needs to watch Mearsheimer’s 2015 University of Chicago lecture “Why Ukraine is the West’s fault” (especially the maps starting at 6 : 10), Stephen Cohen’s Commonwealth Club lecture, Vladimir Pozner’s lecture at Yale, etc. Jeffrey Sachs also has some very good summaries, of history he participated in. Also watch the Nuland-Pyatt phone call (I recommend Diddley Squat) and the press conference where she says the US spent 5 billion on Ukraine (destabilizing it and preparing it for the coup, although of course she can’t say that). Nuland is quite a valuable blabbermouth-also advertising (before her even dumber boss Biden did the same) that the US would blow up the Nord Stream pipeline. Pinker in this video is Exhibit A of the fallibility of even the best human brains. As for human brains in general, just look at the planet (although your human brain will probably deny the evidence). Even the plants in my garden know something is wrong. While the comeupance of the American bully may be satisfying in the short term, it doesn’t change the trajectory of the planet: humans are going to consume and trash it and nothing is going to stop them. Enjoy what’s left while you can and for god’s sake don’t have children.

Than you professor for intelligent and onest debate, should help that we all go out from total west disaster. The fourth step was to put hands on Russian oil , gas , titanium, uranium, copper, gold , diamonds steel , fabrics, space technology, military technology , and and ….. The fifth’s step is put NATO and US army’s with nuclear weapons on Russian and Chinese border what is the highest target . So it’s clear like look through window how big appetite put kindergarteners in their minds . Now I asked you all can this sheet go with out nuclear disaster? You think because it’s all about our skin. Please think !

On the other hand professor during the time cdimea, donbass and luhank declaration of independence the duly constituted democratic government of ukraine was abolished and desolved already thereby the government that functioned that time was a rebolutionary government which is illegal, it didn't have a constitution because the old constitution ceased to exist when people who constituted the rebolutionary government were the same people who violated and vandalised it, thereby making crimea, donbass and luhansk declaration of independence during that time had the same puting with that of this new ukrainian government. Another reason, this new government of ukraine is not related whatsoever to the government of yokonovich. The existence of this new government happened when the former government already ceased to exist and in wikipidea it was listed as its predicisor the revolutionary government and the revolutionary government has no predicisor. And again in my opinion since it was a new born government directly decended from a de facto revolutionary government, this new ukraine government, and being unrelated to the yokonovich government can't inherit all what was left by the later. This situation give to these 3 regions also the same right to have their independence with the same reason that the yonovich government had been abolished and desolved already. The same right and reason also used in the creation of this new ukraine independent democratic goverment. Am i correct professor? Another point, in my opinion this new government of ukraine was created de facto. Because it was created ilegally with an election held without a contitutional bases. Again am i correct professor?

In February 2014, the then pro-Russian faction in Ukraine Due to the corruption of President Yanukovych, A coup d'état took place and an anti-Russian government was established. This coup is a false flag operation orchestrated by American warmongers. a democratic coup to overthrow the then-regime (Atrocities, in fact) had to happen. In order to cause the coup d'etat, the warmonger Hire a sniper to overthrow the regime and seize power at the time, culminated in genocide. A coup d'état is not something that can easily happen, Also, because there was a sniper, It is clear that there is a huge organization behind the uproar. What played a part in this commotion was CIA operative Eric Ciaramela. Vice President Joe Biden, CIA Director John Brennan, former President Barack Obama, Victoria Nuland (State Department), George Soros and high-profile politicians were involved.

There is nothing realist about Mearsheimer. In his worldview, Ukraine is simply a puppet state of either the US or Russia or neutral. As if Ukraine isn't free to choose a side and deal with any potential consequences. A true, American realist would see what is happening right now as completely eliminating an old enemy, Russia, so they can focus fully on China in the future. It is unfortunate that Ukraine is being destroyed as well, but in a realist view, you don't really care about things like that. In my view, someone with a big heart would realize Ukrainians would live better lives with the EU and NATO and it is better that thye suffer badly right now for a better future, than suffer slowly for eternity. It is also important to realize, Russia will be extremely vulnerable to China in the future, so there will be an intense pull to the west to reform and join the EU/NATO. They could also potentially collapse again because part of the reason Russia wants Ukraine is to increase their percentage of ethnic Russians. Why would a Chechen want to live in a Russian dominated country for example?

It is tragic that the Non-Western countries keep on relentlessly pointing out the war crimes of the West in Iraq, Libya, Syria, Latin and Central America, but are absolutely silent about the war crimes of Russia in Ukraine. Similarly it is so bewildering to the rest of the world, how the discredited West is crying itself hoarse about the warcrimes of Russia after turning a blind eye to the horrific war crimes by Bush Blair and Coalition of Western governments in Iraq, Libya, Syria, Guantanamo etc and thw powerful West's bullying and human rights violatiins all over the world especially Latin and Central America. All over the world, its just Pots calling Kettles Black.. and saying that they themselves are White as Milk.
