I have this 3d printer and 800€ worst invested ever. Started having issues with extrussion, then I had to dismantle the whole header to unblock it, one of the extruders was too much unleveled and somehow blocked so I couldn't adjust it, and I had to hit it with a hammer to be removed, it was removed, then adjusted, but it no more was stable in its position even with the screw tight. One motor stopped working and tech support sent another motor, then it started to print well, but extruders were never aligned, when the plastic was going through them it was pulling them out, the termistor broke or I don't know what and one day I saw the heater shinning and when I touched the cables seems the thermistor was working again and printer showed 800+º temperature on that extrussor. The glass bed was a mess, even with the glue plastic was not sticking well enough, so I put a layer of paper holded by clips and put a bit of sprayed glue on the paper, I could use it for a while, but only with one extruder, the other one was moving depending on if the plastic was going in or out. Laser, one of the reasons I bought that printer has not been used, didn't dare to remove the header and cables in case something else was disaligned or a cable broke. Perhaps it's a good printer and I got the black sheep of the pallet, but it's in the toilet and the next step will be bringing to the recycle point.

Hi, you are not actually "copy printing" in this video. You are just dual extruding. You should not have any purge towers for copy printing. Here is how to copy print: 1. Prepare ONE item as you normally would (max 33 cm object width), then click the config button and select one of your SINGLE extruder settings. (as far as the slicer is concerned we are printing one object for this demonstration) 2. Find the print tab and then the g-code section. Your g-code should now be displayed. 3. Add these 2 lines to the START of your print g-code. M420 S1 M109 T1 S190 (the line just BELOW these should be ";Startcode BIBO printers") 4. Add this line to the END of the print g-code (on Repetier there is a sub tab for start/end g-code) M420 S0 (the line just ABOVE this should be "M117 BIBO Print complete") 5. Click "save as" and save this as your new "copy print" base format for future use. 6.Slice and print, taking care to watch the first layer for any ooze that occurred while both nozzles were heating. What you are effectively doing is running a print like normal but forcing the machine to analog run the other side simultaneously. Much like holding 2 pens in one hand to create a double image. notes: This is if you use extruder 1 for the print setup. If you wanna use extruder 2 for the print setup, change the second line of code added to "M109 T0 S190". This will make extruder 1 the slave instead of ext. 2. Also the "190" represents the print temperature and you can change it to whatever you need. You can find your g-code by clicking configuration>print>g-code, if using Repetier. You can print rows of many objects as long as they are 33mm wide max and a gap of 33m is between them. The instructions say you should also power cycle your machine on and off to make sure it stops heating the forced on extruder when finished.

Today M420 is listed M420: Leveling On/Off/Fade (Marlin). This would have nothing to do with copy printing. What is the equivalent command today? Thanks,...

I purchased a Bibo 2 second-hand a month ago and had this copy printing function working fairly quickly in Prusa Slicer. When you set it up as a new machine, it already has the BIBO as an option with pre-set configurations for each extruder setup (single E1, single E2, duo, copy etc) - hope this helps.

How did you get it to print in copy mode? There is absolutely NO information on how to set it up. Is it something you do in Simplify3D or do you do it on the Bibo after inserting the card?

Great to have this series of videos available - thank you. And I'm sure trying to both unpack the machine and be a video cameraman at the same time can't have been easy. But if I might say - It rather demonstrates a common perception - anybody who chooses Apple products (eg your laptop) is not in any way a natural Engineer ?

I've just ordered this because I want to be able to print support material, requiring two extruders. Your comment about not varying temperature between extruders alarmed me. Care to elaborate in this regard?
@shaktee96 жыл бұрын
Yes, I found that the temperature control in the BIBO does not allow for two materials with widely differing temperatures (say, PLA and ABS) to work well together. But, apparently, that is a common issue, mostly a limitation of the materials at high temp. Either way, it is a pain.
@TheCablebill6 жыл бұрын
OK, I'm seeing recommendations elsewhere to use support material that prints at a temp close to the structural material, e.g., PLA with PVA. That seems reasonable anyway, so maybe it's not a serious impediment. Alternatively, I wonder how practical it is to insert pauses into the print run to allow time for temperature changes in switching material selection. One would have to do it strategically to minimize mode switches and attendant delay. I've yet to produce my first print, so I'm just getting oriented. Thanks for your video and advice.
@shaktee96 жыл бұрын
Pauses are likely a to have an unpredictable effect on the printed material since that would have temperatures much cooler than if the print were continuing without much pause? I have not tried it myself though.

Now that you have had this printer for a while, What are your thoughts?
@kevinmurphy47126 жыл бұрын
I was looking at this printer but there is not a lot of information on it that I can find, I can only guess that it has a 8 bit motherboard?, Do you know what drivers it uses? What software is it compatible with, and what software if any does it come with?. Where is it made? Sorry for all the questions but I would like to know as much about this printer as I can before purchasing one. Thank you.
@shaktee96 жыл бұрын
These are all good questions. The basic mother board is an Arduino controller. The open source Marlin firmware is what it uses. The touch screen uses the MKS TFT code. Anything that can drive Marlin can drive this printer. They suggest Cura. Most people like Simplify3D. Personally, I use either Cura or IceSL. If I were to buy a printer today, I might go with the Prusa MK2S with the MMU Kit or QIDI XPro. They are simpler and seem to be more robust. But, like everything in this space, all of them require some level of hand holding. Technology maturity is not like a current generation 2D printer for sure.

hi , nice video , I gave you like , please advise do you recommend me to buy one ? and did you try the engraver ?
@shaktee96 жыл бұрын
Hi @MBZ AUS, thank you for the like! The printer is a good printer, but it does have its faults like every other printer there is. The biggest challenge that most people seem to face is that with two nozzles, the printer rarely ships completely level. So, leveling is a pain. If you don't really need to use more than one material per print, I would suggest getting a single nozzle printer. If multiple filaments are required for your print, you can do it with this, but you might need to get commercial software that will drive it. The laser is very low powered and can maybe burn thin paper, and mark wood, but that is about it. And to get a good marking you will need to run it slow. Also, you cannot have the laser head and the print head at the same time. You will physically need to remove the print head to install the laser head and run it. If you are looking for fast and deep engraving, you are better off with a higher powered standalone laser. Hope this helps.

you installed back element with two in filaments tool upside down! (look page 12 in BIBO touch(new board) 3D Printer Operation Manual V2.0c25 pdf file)

Would you recommend this 3d printer?
@shaktee97 жыл бұрын
I have not owned any other. As far as the printer itself, I think it is fine... and has minor issues like any other printer would. It is priced well, and their email support is very good. However, there are a lot of things marketed that I don't agree with - Even though they claim it can print over network and USB, it absolutely has not printed anything over network and it DOES NOT do well over USB. Only SD card printing... which it does fine. Its glass base needs to be secured to not produce artifacts. Printing with 2 spools has been a challenge and definitely it takes it up a notch with two different types of spools like PLA and ABS... but that could be common to all of them. They claim it is a laser engraver and a printer all in one ... but what they don't tell you is that you have to remove the print head to attach the laser.. not a big deal by itself, but it is marketed incorrectly. The laser is excellent, by the way. So, yes, if your use case fits within its parameters, then definitely go for it.

shaktee9 Thanks for your response. Last question. How well is the print quality? The website says it can print at 5 Mycrons so it must be very good?
@shaktee97 жыл бұрын
You're welcome m5008. The print quality is nice once I get the bed and extruder temperatures correct. But I have not measured the precise thickness of the output to know if it is 5 microns indeed. The parts that I have printed have all been mm resolution, so that level of precision has not made a difference to me.
