Nice to hear a contemporary work that sounds good performed on an ensemble of acoustic instruments by talented players.

Thank you so much! The incredible talent of these musicians is even more impressive given that they are also playing on historically modeled instruments for this performance! For example the bows are in the baroque style, the instruments have not been updated or have been restored to their shape from 200+ years ago, they are using gut strings and are performing with some similar practices from Bach's era (note the lack of chin rests!) This piece comes from a full length concert featuring new compositions by critically acclaimed living composers kzbin.info/www/bejne/oHOYl595fdeUbLM I hope you will check it out - it's such a fun mix of old and new!

Because other contemporary works don't sound good ? My opinion is that Shaw's music doesn't sound good, it's actually pretty boring to me, so vapid. Still waiting for an interresting american composer.
@Lucius_ChiaraviglioАй бұрын
@@Alix777. We have a fair profusion of interesting recent works (not all American, but I think some of them are) in KZbin videos, but most of them have gotten no opportunity to be played on acoustic instruments.
