Couple of things Jim. You mention more than once that they move too slowly to be a satellite. You've heard of Geo-stationary satellites - right? A satellite can travel at any speed above the escape velocity of Earth's gravity, and depending upon it's altitude above Earth's surface, which determines an orbits' circumference, or the distance traveled in one revolution of the Earth, the speed relative to one location, say your house, can vary quite significantly, from (Geo)stationary to thousands of miles/km per hour. So there's no reason why they can't be satellites, and yes - satellites DO travel in opposite directions, just not the same satellites. Most take off West to East, but not all do. Lastly, did you not notice that in the 'triangle video' on the extreme right side there is a quite triangular star being shown all the time? maybe it's an equally bright trinary star??

@@MrAuswest Geosynchronous satellites do sometimes follow irregular paths. But they follow a path, a defined path. They are designed to do that to remain over a particular place on earth. If they are on a defined path, then you would observe them over and over again along that path. It is my understanding that the paths they follow cover a limited portion of the sky. The objects I am observing are totally irregular. Also, geosynchronous satellites can only reflect the light that is available - the sun and the sun is white to our eyes. They cannot appear red because there is no natural red light in the sky to reflect. Yet these object appear white and red and often alternate between the two. Also, we know where the geosynchronous satellites are. We know their orbits - they are published. I have examined those orbits and they do not coincide with the objects I am observing. Finally, geosynchronous satellites cannot zoom off at incredible speed and go somewhere else. Yet, we see these objects do that too. Surely, after what we are seeing all over the world in the last few weeks, we have to be open to new ideas rather than trying to cram these observations into the same old pigeonholes.

Exactly. That's what I've seen in Hawaii. There were two moving in a straight line one following the other. I watched them for about 5 seconds, it's hard to tell.And then the first one went off like a candle and a second later the other one disappeared as well. I can tell a satellite and those objects were no satellites. The next day I mentioned this observation to one of the local natives and he just calmly replied to me that it's just the ancestors and that was it.Thank you Jim for this great presentation.

Me and my ex-girlfriend used to witness multiple moving stars in the sky on a nightly basis and we also experienced very similar strange occurrences. Once, traveling throughout the Poudre Canyon area, Colorado at night we pulled over to glance at the sky and we both experienced a bright flash. We lost time and both experienced the same kind of event. Seeming like we came out of a dream. She had a scar with 3 puncture like wounds in the shape of a triangle on her hip. Also, another time years later we were being followed by a bright light on a road trip to relocate her to my home town. All these moving stars seemed to be intelligent with a random flight path, some resembling a sea creature moving through water. They new when we looked at them sometimes interacting. Another strange occurrence was when we were camping outside of Yellowstone. We were sleeping in my truck bed with a camper shell and both of us remember feeling something unsafe or ominous outside of the vehicle. Both paralyzed, wanting to defend ourselves, at minimum scream but were seemingly forced to lay in silence. We both wake up at the same time with nothing strange to be actually happening. We both felt the same presence.

I was walking down the road at night and decided to check out the sky I proceeded to stare at the stars right over my head and kept an eye on one in particular I kept looking at it and walked at the same time, I kidd you not after four or five steps the star started to slowly drift or glide on over to another one. I for a second thought maybe stars are just some sort of monitoring devices because had I looked back at the road it probably would of moved without me noticing.

Seeing these are in the northern sky, I believe these are satellites in a Molniya orbit. Russia uses this highly eccentric orbit to provide telecommunications coverage for it northern regions. Their orbital period is 8-10 hours and move very slowly at apogee. They also glint as shown in the video.

Is it possible to estimate a distance to it? At least very approximately.
@jimlake540429 күн бұрын
@@МихаилКиндяков-б5ж To some degree, yes. I have attempted it by using two cameras pointed at the same spot. If both cameras capture the same object, it is possible to measure the parallax using the background stars as a reference. That can be reduced to a right triangle. Using the distance between the cameras as a baseline, and the parallax as the opposite angle, one can calculate the height. My calculations with a 20 foot baseline, indicate that the objects are above 100,000 feet.
@МихаилКиндяков-б5ж28 күн бұрын
@@jimlake5404 Thanks, Jim, you're a really good engineer indeed. So then it's about 30 km height. Do you have any ideas about size?
@jimlake540428 күн бұрын
@@МихаилКиндяков-б5ж It could be higher than that. It’s just that 100,000 feet is the upper limit of the resolution I can get using a 20 foot base line. So, I know it’s no lower than 100,000, but could be up in orbit 500 km up.

Im out in west Texas, pretty deep into the desert.I bought a green lazer, mostly to point out areas of the night sky to my wife as we look through our telescope, as well as ares where meteors are falling. I started to notice, that in some areas, I was getting a flash in return. One night it was very consistant and whatever it was began to flash back and move across the sky. Made the hairs on my neck stand up because it appeared to get closer as well. I quit after that. Yeah, it was cool, but IDK I just get a bad vibe about that stuff.
