You want context you descibed the oldest club competition as tinpot. A competition you have won a lot, i agree fan channels are toxic but you are adding to that. The lack of respect for cup competitions is breathtaking.
@ThomasJHunterКүн бұрын
The fa cup overall isn’t tinpot overall. League cup is imo. But what I mean is that the cup competitions don’t validate how good I truly believe the project and level these players are at. If we’re as elite as we think we need a premier league or champions league to validate that
@DavidLowe-r9lСағат бұрын
@ThomasJHunter well at this present time i don't think as whole club that you are elite any cup success would be good for Arsenal.
@tominigerianinterfan2758Күн бұрын
Arsenal were so bad for so long that being half decent now is satisfying to you. Arteta has done well sure, still not good enough. Big clubs would’ve sacked him last season. Juve sacked Allegri who’s won them multiple league titles 2 days after wining a cup last season. Arteta can’t be sacked after winning nothing? Raise your expectations or stay mediocre. P.S. Odegaard is definitely not the best creative player itw.
@ThomasJHunterКүн бұрын
I completely disagree. If you chop at a tree long enough eventually it will fall. All the placements are there for us to win a major trophy. We’ve been so close. It just needs one right addition and little bit of luck. I don’t think jumping the gun early will help. And I think wherever Mikel goes after us he will win everything in the game. Odegaard is a very creative world class player imo. There are many things wrong with arsenal at the moment but he isn’t one of them. It’s like for example salah at Liverpool. You don’t move past elite level players ever
@tominigerianinterfan2758Күн бұрын
@ all of that is wishful thinking. Managers earn this kind of respect by winning trophies so you believe they can do it again. Arteta has never won a league title. Saying if he keeps trying he will just eventually win one is peak wishful thinking. Saying if he leaves he will win everything is also wishful thinking. Hes won nothing but someone else’s fa cup so far. You speak about him like he’s won a treble. There’s no assurance of that, you simply hope it will happen. Brendan rogers was a Gerard slip away and he never came close again. Arteta has had enough time to get the job done. Big clubs are ruthless, what I’m learning from your fanbase is you’re not a big club.

The 2nd highest paid mgr has been learning on the job?!? This dude is toxic positivity.
@ThomasJHunter2 күн бұрын
Surely that’s a fact? It’s his first managerial job. He came in with no experience and elevated us. So yes he is quite literally learning on the job…. But everyone should learn through experience. That doesn’t mean your bad at your job if you can still get better. Context is key
@feralearthworm3044Күн бұрын
@ThomasJHunterIt's a fact, yes, but it's a poor defense. If you're paid well you must get good results, whether it's your first job or your last. Otherwise, take off. ...and, he's EXTREMELY slow to learn. EVERYONE sees that 29 isn't a midfielder, Partey shouldn't be RB, and we need subs before the 82nd minute, and we need to be quicker on the break at least sometimes, but it takes Legohead dozens of games to see it?!? C'mon man. Obvious stuff here.
@ThomasJHunterКүн бұрын
But through his Arsenal career he has got better and better results? We’re now an elite team. Partey has only played rb this season coz of our injury issues? 29 hasn’t played midfield in almost a year? He’s mad us into a scintillating football team. One of the best in the country. Arteta has probably forgotten more about football than we will ever know. I’m sure he’s aware of the issues we have

let's see how happy you are with the team when we don't win another trophy for the 5th year in a row. But sure, let's keep arteta, because he's definitely really good at winning trophies, right? Sure, let's keep havertz, because he's the best player in the league. Because the best football players in the world miss a header from 1 yard out, right? Yeah, this video is embarrassing and sums up the average fan in our fan base who has ZERO standards for the club. I'm sorry, but this is so frustrating to watch
@ThomasJHunter2 күн бұрын
How has any of what I’ve said stating havertz is the best in the league? The point is that it’s not havertz fault that he’s the only option….. Do you remember how depressing it was under unai? Winning 40% of games. Sure under Mikel now we haven’t got it over the line there is frustration. But we can be happy most weeks because we win. I’m not stating that if he doesn’t win something in 3 more years it wouldn’t be a failure. Simply the story is not written. Enjoy the process and where we are at now and we may have a positive outcome soon e.g. a trophy My standards are based solely on around Arsenal. Before Mikel we were a banter club for years. Miles off it

I don't know why you are going at the fans when Arteta hasn't won a trophy for 4 years? And when Arteta doesn't win anything again this season and the next, what are you going to say then?
@ThomasJHunter4 күн бұрын
It’s simply more to it then that. Arsenal used to be a laughing stock. Arteta made us main stream again. He brought the whole club in that direction and has made us compete with the worlds elite. If he doesn’t win anything long term maybe we readdress this but as it stands he is by far and away got credit in the bank. Do you remember how it felt in the latter stages of wenger or under Emery? We barely even won games. Now we’re happy 75% of the times with a very likeable squad. The fans need to stick together. Each to there own but I just find the negativity is there for clicks and a little overstated
@TheKh654 күн бұрын
@ThomasJHunter Arteta has definitely helped Arsenal to elevate to a level that we can compete again, but he may be a Brendan Rodgers more than a Klopp. I am just cautious of the fact that he is nearing a billion spent without anything major in the cabinet. Can you imagine if a manager like Inzaghi or Naggelsmann was at the helm and had that kind of money to spend? However, I dont tolerate the name-calling and threatening of Players and their families, though.
@ThomasJHunter4 күн бұрын
Whilst I think that’s a fair thing to be cautious about surely you have to also caveat that with the fact 4 clubs have spent more in that time and regressed? Not only that but we had no sellable assets prior to his arrival. Now we have a top 2 valued squad in the world. I’m not saying that every signing has been correct but when you have to rebuild the squad entirely surely the money side is actually quite reasonable? Our wage structure for example is 200m below Liverpool. We still have room to grow and we’re performing to a level consistent with Liverpool and city across the last 3 years whilst spending much less. If you perform to a top level consistently i believe we will eventually win things. This just hasn’t mirrored yet. Finally surely the project isn’t defined by an FA cup. History only speaks about the winners but if you look at the quality we display when fit surely the target for the next two years is the big two trophies? Coupled with that every trajectory we have had since artetas arrival has gone upwards. That’s including this season statistically at this stage

@ThomasJHunterАй бұрын
Personally I think that Brighton or Villa are the most sustainable models for long term success. Villa have bags of money so will likely compete for years to come. Brighton are so so secure. Fulham are amazing right now but they have never proved they could rebuild if some of their players get poached. Bournemouth similar to Fulham imo. I’d probs lean to Brighton or brentford out of those options with Brighton being the more ‘glamour’ choice

Great video! As a new American fan of Soccer I've been watching the start of this Premier league season. I came with the mindset of not glory hunting and picking a big 6. Researching the best run clubs is excellent advice which I've already done. I hate the model of the biggest revenue teams stay at the top because all revenue is not equal according to stadium size, marketing and fan base. I enjoy the teams that punch above their weight and can fight for some type of silverware not necessarily the Title.

If Wenger was "lucky" to personally discover/identify talented French players and integrate them into a wonderful team, then Alex Ferguson is the luckiest manager in history, since most of his best players through his most dominant era came through the youth team at just the right time. Utter nonsense.

Happy to listen to a differing viewpoint. Why do you feel that wenger was lucky then?
@Rubionion3 ай бұрын
@@ThomasJHunter all engagement is good engagement, I’m glad you can see that! precisely what souness said, wenger inherited a team who were title challenge ready, signed a few amazing Frenchmen and had a period of success. Steve Bruce could have won the prem with that Arsenal team. There’s a reason Arsenal were stuck in fourth for years and that was because arsene couldn’t rebuild and hence he was therefore very lucky to have inherited a team with an excellent spine which allowed to him to succeed with Henry ect Like him or hate him, souness knows football and management(with opposing success in application) and idk how you can call him a moron. It’s far too personal and far more disrespectful than anything souness said about wenger. He won the champions league 3 times as a player. The list of managers with better win rates in the premier league is quite extensive. I actually really like Arsene he comes across as a genuine person and a good man but he couldn’t tie someone like klopps shoes as a manager(who built a team from scratch and then rebuilt Liverpool again)
@ThomasJHunter3 ай бұрын
Whilst I understand what your saying regarding the team he inherited he still then rebuilt Arsenal to make the invincible team. Bergkamp was left over from before him but the rest of the team were players wenger brought in. Also surely you have to look at the financial constraints that took hold after the emirates? The fact prior to Ozil arsenals record deal was arshavin? Arsenal simply couldn’t compete financially and to continue to get top 4 on a shoe string is very impressive. Moron was a bit harsh. Souness is highly respected as player. But it seems these comments show a bit of ill will. Possibly from past experiences with each other but arsene is clearly still one of the all time great premier league managers imo.

@@ThomasJHunter I agree that White is probably more suited defensively against strong attacking teams vs Timber, but Timber is a better all-round player imo. He is a lot more comfortable on the ball and has the ability to glide past players or beat the press unlike White. Also the Dutchman is a much better overlapping player, more dangerous in the box with his shooting ability and he's a better passer/crosser than White. Timber can also comfortably slot in at LB, CB and midfield. If we played a 352, Timber could also be a wingback on either side. White is a lot more limited but he's defensively solid.
@ThomasJHunter3 ай бұрын
@@slyarsenal whilst i agree with the dribbling point i think Ben has a much better passing range.
@slyarsenal3 ай бұрын
@@ThomasJHunter Ben only has a better range when he's not running at pace into the ball. He can't keep the ball low with pace on crosses. He's good with cross-field passes when the ball is travelling slowly, and requires height to reach the intended player, but he's a poor crosser due to the faster pace of the overlapping delivery from Saka/Odegaard. Some might debate we're not a team that whips in cross after cross, but with the size of our players in the box, a better crosser would likely find them with more accuracy. White lacks crossing in fast and flat deliveries. This is where Timber is better because he hits the ball cleaner and thus why I believe he's a better overlapping player coupled with his ability to play with the ball at his feet.
