Rock Island isn't in Moline, Illinois, it is its own city just like Moline. It has to be a city for the legendary, fictional Blues Brothers hail from Rock Island, Illinois!!! Now Rock Island Arsenal, the very land you are standing on while filming at least the opening scene of this video, is a census-designated place (CDP), but it is not in the city of Moline, nor is it a part of the city of Rock Island, Illinois.

I have such fond memories of going to the Cape as a kid in the 1970s-80s, visiting the Kitchen, and T. W. Burgess's home which at the time was open as a museum. Thank you for this upload.

Pretty good, but it could use a hooskerdo or a hooskerdon't. Anyway, mind if we become neighbors?

how wonderful it would be if this became a sanctuary for these farm animals. I wonder if she explains to the children what actually happens to these animals.

a veritable masterpiece marred by its inexplicable brevity so much highway splendor of the most poetic kind tragically omitted perhaps some one in the future will give this lovely route its due

I spent one night at the Hotel Nevada in Ely thirty years ago after driving north from Las Vegas. I headed west the next day on US 50 to Reno, but I have always been curious about the road east of Ely. I live in Kentucky now, so it may be a while before I make it that way again. Thank you for posting this video and "filling in the blanks" for me!

Happy to see that more folks are discovering the beauty and variety of scenery, people, and history on PA's Route 6. This old Pittsburgh boy made a couple of end-to-end trips on that road in the 1960s, and I see it remains an unspoiled, uncrowded gem.

I remember when Blair Co. was located in downtown Warren and when they had any kind of sale the line that was formed stretched around several blocks. One of the reasons Blair moved out of Warren along rt. 6 (I believe).

At 1:06, you mentioned hunks of iron pieces. Actually those pieces are steel not iron. The first bridge was made of iron. Then in 1900 it was rebuilt of steel to accommodate heavier trains.

If you stay on 6, it should take about 2.5 to 3 hours to drive from Price to Delta, providing you don't stop.
