I noticed that a lot of what makes stand up comedy funny to people is rapport. Lots of the regulars and celebrity guests are worse than many of the newcomers that completely bomb. But they don't bomb because their jokes or their delivery is bad but they are just not known enough and have no history with the panel guests. Tony in this clip does a lot of the hahaing so that Ryan's jokes don't fall completely flat.
