It's only natural to compare Soulframe to Warframe. They're made by the same company, the same development team, and the same engine. Plus, they both have "frame" in the name. You can compare them in a good way or a bad way and it could be used for criticism in a positive or negative sense.

How am i the only person who wants to mention the fucking movement, it's almost 1-to-1 between Soulframe and Warframe, which makes sense with Warframe. However, a slow and careful combat style in Soulframe should never have the same movement as Warframe, it looks so out of place. Sliding all over the place, misaligned hitboxes and visuals. They are my main gripes about the game as I've seen it so far. Additionally, in my opinion, Warframe's boss-fight designs are REALLY bad (And i think it shows with people's reactions with the showcase will think the same for Soulframe's bosses.. In its current state). At the very least, i know Soulframe will have good art/cosmetics due to that being the sole reason I ever played Warframe (I still stand by cosmetics being one of- if not the most - enticing part of Warframe.
@SoulframeOnyx4 ай бұрын
You're spot on that Soulframe's fast-paced movement feels out of place with its slower combat style, and it could really break the game's immersion. While the art and cosmetics will likely shine, the misaligned hitboxes and potential boss fight issues are definitely concerning.

Soulframe is what they want duviri paradox to be. Honestly im not excited about it. Theres a ton of games like this already! I call them dark souls clones why do people want to make another one? Theres blood borne, theres sekiro, elden ring, etc. its been done to death. Oh okay soulframe is nature fantasy themed. Oh like the last guardian, horizon, god of war, etc.

ass long as it uses the same engine and cant hide its sliding movement that comes directly from warframe people will continue to compare it for looking like trash and not being polished and thinking people wouldn't notice the disjointed animations that don't hit their mark so stop defending a corporation for shoddy work that is mostly owned by tencent at this point

stop comparing soulframe to warframe? the game made by the same developers? the game that is set as a precursor to the other? the game that uses 5 of the same letters in the exact same position as the other game?
@somethingrandom6174 ай бұрын
no no no... NO!!! Soulframe is not a precursor it is completely separate universe. the only thing that is similar is some of the gameplay as they used paradox to see if people would be into it or be the not. The precursor to Warframe is a game by DE called Dark Sector which the 1999 Update is a rework/remaster of as it shares same style and gameplay and Arthur is the main protagonist of Dark Sector

Soulframe's art direction looks amazing ngl the only problems I see are the animations and the melee combat. We can forgive them in warframe since its a fast paced game but damn it really is clunky in soulframe. I hope they hire a melee specialist so that they can improve those animations which can overall result an amazing product

I'll admit, Soul frame doesn't look that impressive right now but I'm also not writing it off just yet. Something I think a lot of us tend to forget and take for granted is that Warframe at launch really wasn't that great, in fact it was kinda bland. You could see the potential for it to be something more but aside from that there wasn't much else there. But DE stuck with it and around 2016-2017 Warframe finally became a great game worth playing. We had several more Warframes and planets which showed DE could provide consistent updates and improvements, The War Within would have just released which proved that The Second Dream wasn't a fluke, and because of how different each Warframe works and the sheer variety of mods available there were practically limitless possibilities for how you played. You look at Warframe now in 2024 and compare it to what it was 11 years ago and its practically unrecognizable. Warframe has become one of the most feature rich games ever and that didn't happen over night. I'm not saying rush out there and play Soul frame the day it comes out but I am saying to keep an eye on it. There may come the day when it reaches its potential and becomes worthy of our time, but we won't know if we disregard it now.
@SoulframeOnyx5 ай бұрын
I completely agree . It's easy to forget that Warframe didn't start out as the amazing game it is today. DE's commitment and ability to evolve the game over time is truly impressive. I think it's important to give Soulframe a chance and keep an open mind about its potential. Just like Warframe, it could grow and surprise us with what it becomes. L
@theorangerabbit80065 ай бұрын
No, it won’t. Warframe is good for two reasons: 1. Developers listen and take it upon themselves to model the game based on the player’s POV. 2. The game is its own and strives to be unique. Soulframe is not unique, it’s anything but. It’s literally a game that was made off a whim because of the hype of souls-like games and the recent successes Warframe has had with it’s community. I understand that they don’t want to work on the same game forever. But that doesn’t excuse the fact that they literally copied Warframe’s mechanics and pasted them on to this “New” game and just decided to give it a Dark Souls/Elden Ring like atmosphere. It’s unoriginal, bland, and lazy. Warframe has its issues sure, but when compared to Soulframe it’s pretty much comparing the Mona Lisa to a kindergartener’s scribbles on a piece of paper. But if the devs of the game actually take the criticism and improve upon the design and give the game more originality and better mechanics. Then maybe it could rival its predecessor.

It's worth remembering that when Warframe launched back in 2013 it wasn't that great. It took years before DE got it to the legendary status it has now, in fact I wouldn't say Warframe became a great game at least 2016-2017, around the time The War Within released. It proved that narratively The Second Dream wasn't a fluke, that these guys know what their doing and how to write a story but also that they know how to consistently add new gameplay mechanics through the story as well. Soul frame doesn't look that impressive right now but I'm not going to write it off just because it's not mind-blowing before it's even released yet. It may take some time before it comes into its own just like Warframe did, and even if it doesn't it's free to play, you lose nothing in the end.
@SoulframeOnyx5 ай бұрын
You're absolutely right about Warframe's evolution over the years. DE really showed how a game can grow and improve with time and dedication. The storytelling and gameplay mechanics have truly set a high bar. It's a great point about Soulframe too-games often need time to find their footing. It's exciting to see where it could go, and since it's free to play, there's no harm in giving it a shot. Let's hope it follows in Warframe's footsteps and surprises us all!

@@SoulframeOnyxbecause it’s the most important aspect of the game to make it feel good and if it fails then the whole game fails it doesn’t matter how fancy every thing looks or how good the story is to most people. And most of the time DE listens to complaints but they had 10 months since the last gameplay reveal which people complained about the combat as well and they haven’t made any attempt to make any improvements in that amount of time.

i get what you saying but I believe DE has shown that they can learn from feedback and improve over time, as they've done with Warframe.
