I came to check out the Oud, but I stayed for the music. I like it… I wish there would be more music like this one, that keeps a touch of exotic Arabic music, and yet use some modern accompaniment… great mix of tones.

This is fantastic, man! Some of those tapping licks are wild, but my favorite part is the way you use the whammy bar...also, great bends. It's super vocal and full of emotion..really nice solo.

i just bought the left-handed version of it. my tourist oud is too hard to keep in tune with friction pegs. i cant wait for it to arrive. i play quartertone guitars exclusively; so i won't be too far behind on playing in tune.

hello, beautiful playing, does this oude have both electric and acoustic variations?
@AzrinAbdullah
@AzrinAbdullah Жыл бұрын
Thank you for your kind words. This oud is actually acoustic, with a flat back guitar-like body but equipped with an onboard preamp. It is possible to play this oud mic’d up, without using the preamp. But the tone is not as close to the traditional oud.

Hello, Mr Azrin Abdullah, I am writing to you from Turkey. As someone who loves classical Turkish music and tries to be a good listener, I am sorry to discover your channel only recently. I admired your performance of this extremely challenging work by Şerif Muhiddin Targan. As a Turk, I thank you for your interest in our works. I hope you will add other works to your repertoire and we will have the opportunity to listen to them from your beautiful performance. I wish you success in your musical life.

Hello Azrin. I am a guitar player who has been increasingly interested in playing the oud. Alas, I live in Mexico and it´s really ,really hard to get hold of one, let alone try it before buying it. I´m actually getting a little desperate, and about to quit. Do you recommend this instrument for a beginner? I took notice that the action is low, which sounds just great for me. Would you say it´s a good learning instrument for a guitarrist? I don´t play professionally, but I still want to own a good instrument and not get ripped off.
@AzrinAbdullah
@AzrinAbdullah Жыл бұрын
Hello Alejandro! One of the first challenges for any new oud learners would be to hold the oud in a comfortable and confident position due to the nature if its shape. Since you have experience in guitar playing, this particular model will make it easier to learn the oud for its flat back is similar to the guitar, unlike the traditional oud which has a bowl shaped back. Plus it would be convenient for live gigs applications since it has onboard preamp. So i would recommend this type of oud for beginners. Generally, Sala Muzik instruments are trusted to be of good quality. But tone-wise, personally I will take an acoustic oud anytime.
