Well done for making such an amazing place in those woods. I've got plans to build exactly the same setup if i can get some woodland close to home, right down to the ourdoor sink! The other thing I'd build would be a small pond for wildlife with a solar powered waterfall to dampen down any road noise.

👍 What fun! Flowers and Ivy look great. Doesn’t look like you get much direct sun for the solar lamps…… Perhaps you need to seek the sunniest spot for charging and then disperse them later in the day for nighttime viewing. You might want to Consider a small stand or shelf for your water jug. This will give it height for filling a glass and also move it back away from the counter edge (for safety’s sake). -V

Lovely allotment!!! Thank you for the tour. You’ve made such a wonderful “retreat” - Both inside and out. The desk is a treasure in such an environment. The white set of drawers would serve you just as well out on the porch - leaving you a bit more flow inside. You might also want to consider installing mosquito netting from the overhang around the deck. Lowering it before sundown to help keep them at bay (as in your hammock). The Art wall is so chic. Yours is the most “civilized” allotment I’ve ever seen. 😉 -V (new subscriber)

Puts DDs to shame really I was camping out other weekend in my Frontline and not only did it fail and i fell in the middle.of the night, the rope they use cuts into the tree causing massive damage and iv highlighted this too them and they didnt seem bothered which shows alot considering one tigris actually have a department that deals with gear requests and their customer service is off the chart Also nice content mate new sub here deffo 💪💪

I respectfully disagree. The cheaper models have two straps on each end that go around the tree, sure they're not a tree hugger but they work fine. I'm a scout leader and we have about 20 of the lower cost DD hammocks and tarps, I've taken our scouts on many a hammocking trip in the woods and the DD products have not let us down once. The scouts use them so much - they prefer hammocking to camping now. I just bought the super light jungle hammock and that does come with tree huggers, carbine clips, the full lot!

So i should be explaining that. It's a combo! You rent the plot of land (very very cheap) and buy the little cottage from the previous owner. :) It's very common in Europe and in Sweden it's become super popular the last few years so it's sometimes as expensive as buying a regular summer house...

In the US, you have a laundry room or you could have a machine combo included in the house. It all depends on what kind of set up they have. Typically the cheaper the apartment, chances are its going to have a laundry room. If you have a higher end apartment, youll get a combo. Sometimes especially in old buildings, you dont get a laundry room. Just a laundry line for your clothes. It sucked when I got my first apartment and realized they had no laundry room or machines. I went and bought a tiny Chinese washer that would use water from my sink. Then I would put my clothes up to dry. Also the stove was a half stove. I still have that washer, its good to use for smaller items or delicates so they dont get destroyed by my big machine. Also good to do two loads at once like blankets in the big machine, but a load of underwear in the tiny machine.
@exploringyourself

Here it's very dependant on if you bought or rent your apt. A rental apt needs to be brand new to have a private washer/dryer.

That’s fascinating. Very different from here in South Australia. Each unit/flat/apartment has it’s own laundry. Sometimes if the place is too small, the laundry and bathroom are combined. Occasionally there’s a communal laundry, where the machines are coin operated, but doesn’t require booking in advance.

Get a portable washing machine. I’ve used mine inside a tiny home, and apartments. Pretty small, no hook ups required. Just an electric plug. I just hang my clothes to dry. My washer has a spin dryer. Doesn’t get all the water, but most. Also you use way less soap, so save a bunch on that.

I just went to the DD Hammocks website. You are correct that you are showing a Travel Hammock & not the Frontline Hammock. But the difference between the two is that the second layer of the Travel Hammock is waterproof while the second layer of the Frontline is described only as “breathable.” But they are essentially the same hammock. The same goes for the DD Nest Hammock. It is a Frontline with the mosquito net replaced with solid material.
@exploringyourself
@exploringyourself 11 ай бұрын
It's not me who made the separate products, but I agree they are very similar. I guess if you really want to use the hammock on the ground a lot the waterproof base makes sense, but for most cases it makes it heavier and bulkier.
