How do you like that Allegro? I've got one coming and am STOKED.

It's really nice simple en-C. It's specifics is it's stalls easily and doesn't dive forward after pitch. But it's the best 3 liner en-C on a market and I've tried probably all of them.

Good to test different hook knives and choose the best. I think the speed bar line is a fair test because it is not usually under much tension. For the other tests though - if you hang a bit of weight (I tried with 4kg) on a line, the knife will just slice through. If you want to cut your wing away, it's likely that the lines will have at least this much tension. Once the main lines or risers are cut, the speedbar line will come into tension so it's good to know the order in which to cut I think. Thanks for posting - it's good to think about these things before needing them. The water landing scenario is less good of course because there may be no tension in some lines.

Turbulence + missing proper handling to prevent collapses. Last one was overcompensation and it started to stall left side.

you cut it in a wrong direction (perpendicular to a cut object). no knife on the planet will work this way. correct direction is diagonal (at an angle). also, cutting risers is better and much cheaper than cutting lines. score: 0/2
@DmitryBorodin2 жыл бұрын
Which angle should it be? 45'? I will try. kzbin.info/www/bejne/sKvOhnx-mt-qh9U - this one easity cutting those lines in the same direction.

The 3rd collapse , you may have been on the breaks a bit too much on the left side and induced a light stall. Base on what I see on the video, this glider is pretty easy to handle and reopens quite fast without rotation induced. Being relax and keep the heading would be the best answer to not get into overpiloting. But since it's a C glider, it probably requires a bit of active piloting skills as well that do not work well with stress.

I allways put my hands through the handles and control the knot of the shackle, so I feel all gliders direct and better before they collapse... and please: hands off from the risers ;) (I do this since 21 years in every classes, also at Achensee, where I made my license back then) thx for your vid and fly save!

A common theme with all of these videos is the pilot holding the risers a lot! If you’re holding the risers, who’s flying the glider? Most of these collapses could have been prevented with proper active flying…
It is better to practice dangerous situations by the water 🤣... brake.
@lukashofbauer98113 жыл бұрын
If i look at the handling of the breaks the class of the glider is a bit too high for the pilot ;)

Dmitry thx for the Video! Good to see. From my experience flying a C wing. If the wing collapses and small ears a getting stuck - I recover the glider first and let it get back to „normal speed“, wait a bit and then try to fix the little ears. It seems like you want to fix this asap after the collapse, but I don‘t see it as necessary. Maybe try it out and see how it works for you. Happy flying
@DmitryBorodin3 жыл бұрын
You are absolutely right. I'm first making sure that direction is right, then speed is right, then recovering. Make sense to add small delay as well to make sure I'm not in hurry.

Takeoff is complicated? maybe don't pull as hard
@DmitryBorodin3 жыл бұрын
Without pulling hard with no wind wing will not go up, will just open up like parashute. And then one edge will go up at some point. Phi Allegro, Ozone Delta, Supair Savage (not recommend the last one) et.c. are much easier to takeoff. Even new Mantra from Ozone is easier to takeoff from my perspective.
@E620SE3 жыл бұрын
@@DmitryBorodin did you try pulling not all of the As but only the middle two in each side? Should keep the tips from shooting With every new wing it does make sense to go groundhandlung before flying
@DmitryBorodin3 жыл бұрын
@@E620SE I don't do ground handling before each test flight, I had this problem only with Cayenne while tested ~10 different wings. It may be not a disadvantage but some specifics. I don't remember exactly if I tried to take only center. I don't like only center takeoff because I want to see ears open without knots before I make a decision, and with center only I cannot do it without wind before I run. In general feels like it's because of heavy material. I'm really curious to try new Spice, with light materials it should be less inertial and easier to handle with, can actually be a great wing for me.
@E620SE3 жыл бұрын
@@DmitryBorodin the Spice will also be my next wing Normally you see the ears when you pull up with the inner As, but every wing is different
