I always made this comparison, I don't know if anyone else does too, but for me Wander is and was Disney's SpongeBob, a worthy successor if SpongeBob had ended on time and also if Wander Over Yonder hadn't been cancelled, I'm not talking about cartoons because they are very different concepts, I am talking specifically about the character

I think the idea of wander going too far with fun and nonsense is a really interesting concept that was sadly underutilized. Wander mentions that Screwball (ep, “The Boy Wander”) was “a part of his past”. Which like- we don’t know how but if I were to guess, I think Screwball was a mentor of sorts. A prevalent theme of the show, especially in season two, was loneliness. I like to think whatever Wander went through (ep, “The Wanders”) left him lonely. Maybe he was picked up by Screwball and they became companions. This episode always felt so out of character for him. The way he disregards Silvia is just… off? Sure, he can ignore her warnings or whatnot in favor of helping someone else, but this feels more like selfishness to me. I could be waaay off, but I think this rare, selfish side to Wander can be attributed to a possible past with an evil banana man Man I wish this show wasn’t canceled

i read in an interview that this episode was supposed to give animators a break from working with a background, but turned out to be a nightmare to render because the scenes were so long haha

I LOOVE this song, and the visuals are so perfect! This was the first and maybe last time I was a bit unnerved by Wander. I think this showed that, if he had the full control of his surroundings as he does in this sequence, he'd quickly turn to forcing others to doing what he wants for the sake of their "happiness", like how he turned Sylvia into a puppet. It's his good intentions of making everyone happy, but turned up to the extreme! Super interesting!

This has to be the song in the show. Give me Lemon Demon vibes for some reason. Guess because he sounds like Neil?

I can honestly say that Wander Over Yonder is my favorite cartoon. It told such a wide variety of stories, and did so excellently. Every episode was an experiment, we had entirely musical episodes, episodes focused on Lord Hater, an episode where half of the screen was of Wander's morning and the other half was of Hater's, showing the contrast between the characters, and many more (I know that I'm not doing it justice here). Episodes could be silly, or more plot oriented and dark, focusing on the impending threat of Lord Dominator. Many of the stories were inspired and interesting, like when a giant dog attacking a tennis ball shaped planet, so Wander and Sylvia had to figure out how to drive the dog away. The comedy also hit home with me. A lot of the jokes come from a place of chaos (best way I can describe it), and this is the exact kind of humor that I love. It is well timed and well written. Speaking of writing, the show is remarkably solid. Dialogue is natural, and character interactions are hilarious, especially between Commander Peepers and Lord Hater. I love all of the main characters. I also loved most of the side characters, though I did not like Emperor Awesome. If you've seen any episode featuring him, you could probably guess why. In terms of the show's art style, I absolutely love looking at it. Very smooth, colorful, and vibrant. The character designs are simple in a good kind of way, the show is aesthetically pleasing for sure. Even the side characters are well designed and interesting to look at; this gives the show's world a lot of appeal and intrigue. The world building throughout the show intrigues me, I am so interested in the different planets throughout the galaxy and the creatures within them. The show is also packing a lot of songs. They are just amazing, I've periodically looked for them on this site (just like you ;D) because I love them so much. Though I said that the show's tone can change from episode to episode depending on the theme, it is generally bright and uplifting. It is the kind of show that boosts your mood and makes you feel happy. I wish that it had a longer run, but 2 seasons and an excellent finale are a lot more than other underrated shows are given. I can't help but feel that the show would have found more success on Cartoon Network. Disney has a history of mistreating their animated shows and pushing them to their less popular network: Disney XD. This isn't news to anyone here, I know that you're all aware of the show's quality and it's unfortunate treatment, but I just wanted to praise the show once again and show my gratitude to Craig McCracken for creating it.

This song, as catchy as it is, really creeps me out. With all the neon colors, somewhat strange or even off-putting imagery, and the fact he is literally controlling Sylvia like a marionette and also has an ominous shadow looming over his face as he makes her dance, I believe we REALLY get a more clear or at least closer look into how wander sees the world. He's probably 1000s of years old, is an outstanding extrovert, so maybe he's able to manipulate the minds of others to his liking. That's only one of the things I've gathered from this scene in this episode. And it scares me a little. Wish the show was never cancelled so that their was at least another chance to really dissect his character, backstory, and true motives.
