This version like an old lady with a deep voice singing with deep emotion but Whitney version took it to another level with more fresher and of course with that operatic and magificent voice of hers which made the song a global hit and commercial success

Madonna tried to suppress this song/video/album for years because Alanis was a cash cow for Maverick Records.

I prefer this version to the one on the other 12” records…I only found it recently on a Spanish 12” with Whitney posing on the beach with a horse on the cover

The majority of Whitney’s hit records were covers. So when Whitney covers your song, it’s no longer yours unfortunately lol.

Good thing Alanis pivoted away from looking exactly like Paula Abdul, not even Paula Abdul could really make it after ‘94 or so….

The blueprint. Miss Whitney moved in and redecorated, built additions. But it all began with these good bones, this strong foundation. ❤

Wow, Whitney Houston‘s version absolutely destroys this and brings it to a whole other level. Much respect to this artist, but Whitney took it out of the stratosphere.

She is singing in a different key. She sounds good. Her natural singing voice is lower than Whitney's natural voice. The feeling is similar. Whitney certainly changed this. And upgrades the song. Linda did a good job. Both Talented.

Its criminal that a band with so many fantastic songs, like this one,is remembered for one rather bland one. Sigh. We miss you Chrissy.
