Beautiful effect - is this real filming and through (or projected on to) frosted glass - nice work - liked

A photo of some ice. With a glass and light video placed on top. A mix of both techniques.

This video is really cool! I'd love to learn more about your process.

Very simple-light source plus glass plus slow rotating motor. To achieve this all you would need is a slide projector for light and a piece of glass on a motor [the kind you use to slowly spin a mirror ball] and then another piece of glass to project the resulting projection through. You would be amazed at the amount of hidden features even boring looking glass objects can have. If you need more information feel free to ask. And thank you for your appreciation.

@mellowvids9637 thanks for the insight! I think it's so cool that you are producing these visuals with practical effects. They have like an analog digital vibe which is interesting. Cheers!

@@RobertZur3nko I forgot to mention that lower light also brings out textures you can't normally see. Good luck.

Beautiful - is this still something you filmed (from light going through glass?) rather than a digital effect? - liked
@mellowvids96372 ай бұрын
Most of the design is digital with a little analogue light mixed in.

I have another channel with music videos. It is mostly up beat though. I made this channel really just for my own needs but thought I would make it public just in case anyone else might enjoy watching. It is fun to select 'play all' , listen to music and see how many times they match up.

@@mellowvids9637 Ah! Sorry if you already are aware but a tip for you - You need to always post in a res higher than HD if you can, then they use the much better VP09 codec (rather then the AC one) for compression. You can see what they use on the stats for nerds (right click on your video, and click on stats for nerd and see the codec.

@@mellowvids9637 No worries, I enjoyed it, fabulous colours & patterns. Don't think it's software I'm familiar with, some particle generator maybe? I've got one or two of those in software I own but never totally got to grips with it, my vids are more animation and 3D fractals, but you've inspired me to look again; they're so pretty! Fancy swapping subs, it helps both our alogrithms and I'm very happy to get notifications of your new vids so I can watch and like them . Subbed 🙂
@mellowvids96376 ай бұрын
@@NepenthesSloth totally will sub. I use imovie and thats it. The images come from projected light. Going through glass or reflected off things. I don't have a good enough computer for anything fancy.

@@NepenthesSloth The other retro looking computer graphics is sometimes photocopies on a slow turntable or an image made in photoshop but the 3-d videos are all light through glass filmed in total darkness with an inexpensive digital camera. The technique is called Lumia and dates back to the Victorian era. Thomas Wilfred being the main pioneer.
