The winning white sports racer is a car built by Jon Staudacher for SCCA DSR class. Carbon fiber bodywork and wings and all hand built chassis and suspension by Jon with a 1000 cc motorcycle 4cyl engine. He designed and built 5 or 6 of these cars for himself and sold them to finance the next one.

Recently discovered TA2 and am gutted they're not at Gateway for '25. I get it, though. Those stands were packed 😔 more people need to know about TA series

The car was not boxy, in fact it had a cd of .23, which was lower than a Corvette at the time.

I’ve become a major fan of vintage racing. NASCAR just doesn’t appeal to me anymore. Just “PIT” the leader and take the lead. I have seen little actual “racing “ anymore. THESE HISTORIC races are great‼️‼️ 🚗🙂

Another great weekend at the SpeedTour COTA weekend. I attend this series every year and it just gets better while retaining the grassroots, fan-friendly attitude with the open paddock and being able to wander in and out of the garages. Thanks SVRA! I'll be back next year!

5:06:43. Awesome young man. Very good driver and very humble and respectful. I've raced with him in some endurance events, and his persona is 100% sincere. Genuinely a good guy, and if you know his family, you know where he gets it.

6:53:08 This comment is meant more for encouragement than negativity. Camera people, watch a race video or two to observe that incidents are important to follow with the camera for the benefit of viewers. A moment after the time stamp at the beginning of this comment reflects a perception that the camera person thought: "Oh, something happened to that car. Oh, well, let's find the person still on the track.". No, that's not the SOP. In other news, this was a Hell of a fun weekend of racing at VIR.
@justinschroder6094Ай бұрын
Well, nevermind. Apparently, the camera persons have been asked to "cut away" from action on the track. Excellent choice. Tequila all 'round. For those in The States who have no comprehension of verbal irony, this is sarcasm. It is not an excellent choice to "cut away" from action on the track.

The most important part of this event (Saturday), after Trans Am, are the classic cars, those that competed on the track (SVRA) and those that were at the auto show (Hagerty Cars & Caffeine). I don't understand why after the shots that were taken when they were going to go out on the track (1:12) they did not show absolutely anything of the Hagerty Cars & Caffeine classic cars rolling around the circuit. I don't understand, it must be because the cars don't have sponsors and VIR prefers to put anything, even still images, instead of putting someone without a sponsor.

These were the best trans am cars ever. I think they should come up with a racing series where you build the same type of race cars out of restoration or reserection cars with better braking and handling and correct year motors with a little leway towards aftermarket parts in place of hard to find pricey originals and call it the mad Max series

I watched all these cars race in the 1960s and 1970s on many West Coast race tracks. The Minis and Cortina GTs were kings. Alfas were fast too. Then came the Datsun 510s. There was a very fast VW Beetle with 356 Porches running gear. A stock Ford Lotus Cortina GT was a fast car. All I watch is vintage racing.

A ‘63 Monza was my first car. I always thought they were ahead of their time. I always wanted a ‘66 Corsa after the ‘63 Monza. One of those dreams never realized. Always a fan bc as a former owner, I know what great potential they had, but gm promoted the Camaro instead.
