Why is this no longer on Spotify?! It took me ages to find this because I'd forgotten the name. It's nowhere in their Wikipedia discography and I couldn't remember which ep it was on. I lost my physical disc years ago, I thought I'd imagined it...

Thank you. I can't even begin to tell you how long I was looking for this song. I wish it was called "I cant' expect you to see me" cause that's all I had to go off of. And I knew it was briefly it was in a Jackass movie. Many many hours later, here I am.

Can anyone point me in the direction of purchasing authentic AFI records or eps

I always think... the 2 songs on 336 jus have this interesting feel to them, and I really wish they had made some more stuff that sounded like they do. I've had a love/hate relationship with STS as I loved it when it came out, played the hell out of it and had to go back a couple of albums to just get back into AFI again, and then kind of buried it for awhile but still liked to play demos from it and stuff like that... and I didn't hate it or anything, just had played it too much in a short period of time and I was getting into other hardcore bands that were coming along or getting bigger right around that time period as AFI was departing that style, which I was still heavily into. As I've gotten older and some of the early stuff almost feels too outdated for me, I am happy for STS and especially the demos I've always been in love with, all of which exist on here if you look around. T But as I started off... the two songs from 336 just have this different feel to me for some reason.... I don't know if anyone else feels the same, but it's almost as if they represent and hold the place of this extremely tiny gap between Art of Drowning and Sing the Sorrow that didn't have much material or time for anything other than STS's stuff to be recorded. It was like a tiny moment and this sound just isn't really in any other period of AFI;s history, and I'll argue STS really doesn't sound like the 336 release, it's much more complex and it gives off a different feeling to me. Those two songs on 336 just captured something I haven't heard in anything else except maybe the demo for Synesthesia.... That demo actually sounds like it belonged directly on 336... A Winter's Tale has a similar style, but also feels like something from the AoD era. I remember seeing the record was supposed to be limited to 5k copies or something, but that couldn't possibly be true... In any case, it's an era of AFI that seems to almost not exist. I assume a ton of songwriting and recording went on during 02 (I want to say I read an article where it's mentioned that STS had over 130 tracks recorded for it?.... Am I thinking of the right band and album here?).... 2002 was also a year they didn't seem to play live much, but the few shows out there that made it to youtube are unreal... I suggest anyone interested in this short period check them out. There's one ft. Nick 13 on here that has some insane crowd participation and good sound and video as a whole, so you're not listening to and watching something that was filmed and recorded with a potato. I gotta go back and see when 336 was actually recorded. I can't exactly remember if it came out in late 2002 or sometime 2003, either. To me, it's like Art of Drowning and Sing the Sorrow having a kid. But the kid died really fast and STS was born. Not a bad thing, but I wish the kid had another year in between.

Man, I remember when 336 came out. Hot Topic was brand new to our local mall where my cousin and I were complete rats, and as a result, it was slowly killing our favorite place which was the alternative store near the mall (walking distance with ease)... a little boutiqe or whatever called Beyond the Limit. At that store, years prior, I discovered an AFI album (VPOY) and loved the artwork and noticed it was on Nitro so Ibought it. I was hooked and bought everything I could find at that point (pre-internet I didn't have a million sources, and relied on Beyond the Limit and the record store next to it, Rolling Stones Records which was at this point only selling CDs). I didn't see AFI in Best Buy or anything. By Art of Drowning, which was in stores, I was just hooked completely and they were one of my favorite bands thanks to that little store I spent hours and hours at every time I went to the mall. Getting back to 336, I begrudgingly bought it from Hot Topic while I knew that their business used to go to Beyond the Limit (which lasted until Covid, amazingly). I played the two songs and they both reminded me a lot of something like A Winter's Tale which I thought was cool. I would go to a listening party (I think an early listening party-- it may have been exclusive to Despair Faction members but I can't remember, I just know I had this interesting "invitation" of sorts as it looked, with date/time/place and AFI insignias on it) in 2003 at Rolling Stones records (the place near BOTL) for STS which was unique, since I had never been to something like that before... II think the album may have leaked before that night, but it was still cool and the turnout was pretty insane... I mean, the crowd was unreal in 1999 when I saw them with at Fireside Bowl a day before my b-day, but by 2003 the interest was just nuts. Girls Not Grey being on the radio and TV probably helped a lot. Does anybody remember if they had listening parties for Despair Faction members with that album before release in your town? I can't remember if it was exclusive or something the store was just doing. I don't recall paying anything. But it was cool and made me realize just how big they had gotten in what seemed like a blink.

@@teaspooooon shoot, I forgot to mention how I would constantly pause my Tony Hawk 3 (was it? Or maybe 2? Possibly even 4.... one of those, not the OG) to select a track and just repeat The Boy Who Destroyed the World. There was also a song by an aussie punk band called Bodyjar on there that I liked a lot, too.... I am pretty sure the same edition of THPS as The Boy Who Destroyed the World was one. Fun fact: bodyjar was on Nitro as well. One of my great disappointments (haw haw) is not getting to see them in 2004 due to the nodes..... I saw them from the sidelines as a preteen and then saw them again in 2006 two nights in a row. The crowd energy was as good as I've seen it at the Vic theatre, which has a pretty awkward floor. It was nice to see them both nights since there was a few changes in the setlist for both. I believe on night $2 they played Rabbits Are Roadkill which was really cool.
