Overall, I would of liked to have seen some rewarding words for the dog like good boy or just occasional scratch on head, a little play throughout the session. Then maybe with place in home something good every few times etc… Good for her in wanting to help her self and her dog!!!

I have a year old saint! Freddy ! He’s 145 lbs! He’s my first dog!(I know.... right) he does not listen to me at all! He will sit and give a paw and lay down! Other then those lil things.... he jumps all over me, plays rough, drags me down the street! Won’t listen! Any suggestions or do you have a book or something? I’m totally new to all this and need some guidance! Thanks

Do you education videos on how to do this ?? I am on my last breath I have 3 dogs but it seems I would have to give them away. I cant handle them really. One runs away for an hour, the other is scared of everything and the 3 one gets in to fight with the second one. My nerves are gone

What kind of dog is it? I just adopted a "Rottweiler" from animal shelter but unlike my first one this guy looks and acts a lot like Sam with the white on his chest. First day he eats like he's starving (he's underweight) knocking the bowl around I grasp it still with thumb but he's too aggressive like hes fighting with bowl he knocks his face all around. Other than that he's timid and easy to handle.

Hi, Sean. I assume you've set the remote to 'C' only where the Black button = Continuous and the Red button = Boost - is that right? If so, when you command her "place" you press the black button, and if you say "no" you press the red button? Cheers

Thank you for these videos. Our dogs have just been returned after 3 weeks of board and train using the same techniques. It's a lot to learn and remember and your videos have been so helpful. Question....when you were working with Monty and having him "come" both in the house and in the yard, it seemed like you used voice command and ecollar command. Do we always try voice command first and then ecollar? I'm not feeling confident that I understand how often to trigger the collar and when to just use voice command. Thanks much!

Hi Sean, hope you are well. My Fiancé and I have just rescued a 3 year old border collie/Australian shepherd mix. He is a high energy dog but not overpowering, and playful dog. He is getting along great with us both and is doing well in general with training. The only thing we cannot seem to crack is him seeing his crate as his bed. He will often try role over and nuzzle in to you to avoid getting in the crate. When in the crate he stresses out and cries and will tear up his pillow. Is there something we can do to train him to be more comfortable with staying in the crate. Would be great to hear from you and your thoughts. Many thanks.

Im using a Sprenger, Just started, on my Pitbull. I have studied many videos and researched LOTS. She had been severely abused by a trainer with a prong so even the word prong freaked me out! But now i see, There is a 'right' way, a humane way. My question: I know how to fit the collar, behind the ears...but at times depending on her position, it starts to slip down halfway, but Taking a piece out would make it to tight. What to do???

+William Klein We're just in the homestretch with final edits and graphics! If all goes well it should be available late Nov early Dec. Thanks for your interest! (And the reason for the delay was that we actually shot extra footage to make it even better/easier/clearer for people to learn.)

Hey Sean and Laura, I have watched your videos on e collar training. My dog has the heel command perfected so thank you so much for that. I have a problem where I'll take him out to walk, he does really good in the beginning but as we keep walking after a while he starts with little tension on the leash, I correct and he stops pulling. We keep walking and once we're a block or two away from home he starts to pull and ignores the e collar corrections all together. He just pulls and keeps the leash tight. I don't know why he seems to all of of a sudden get nervous, I think it's just that certain areas he feels uncomfortable around. Once we've turned on my street he's back to normal. Can you please tell me what I can do to correct his problem and make him more confident? Thanks -Jack

@Anthony Santana, sorry to hear about your situation. With horse or prey issues we tend to use some pretty high level e-collar corrections to break the fixation process. Typically if you use lower levels you manage the behavior but don't create an inhibition for the future.

Having problems with my 3 yr old pitbull going after my girlfriends horse.she ignored most other horses.but when my girlfriend brings out her horse she goes to kill mode and no amount of prong collar corrections will stop her.the e collar I can walk up to the horse and she will obey but if I'm not watching she will bite.we are training in french ring sport .any advice on how to go about her horse aggresion? Goal Would Be Her Running A Long Side horse.Does It HAVE To Be A dream?

If I had a dog present this way (and I've had many similar), I would see them in a private appointment and then get them into a group class. Prong collar + lemon juice correction for inappropriate vocalizations. The owner accelerated much of the dog's reactivity. It IS always about training the owner, isn't it??

Did this dog ever have a R cruciate injury? I keep seeing him offloading his right rear and limping when he is walking. I can see it in his before clips too. They should get that addressed.

Hi there - just wondering what you did on the walk to get him to a calm state ? I see you changed the collar, but did you do leash pressure work with him before the walk? Obviously your energy plays a vital role, but curious what structure you provided before you took him out?

Sean, at about 3:50 you indicate that you "took Rocky for a spin" and then resumed the video about 15 minutes in. I am curious to know what happened in those 15 minutes. You did the same thing about 2:50 into our video with Lucy. In both videos, the transformation was so dramatic that I'm curious you did not share it with us. I would like to know what you did. You mentioned 180s and The Convincer. I want to know more.

WOW! Sean you KNOW I understand how impressive this is. As Rocky's Fresno Foster Dad I have seen his reactions to other dogs/cats/squirrels/geese. This is unbelievably amazing and you are definitely understating his excitement level when in the presence of other animals prior to this. This is fantastic progress! Thank you. So cool that you pointed out his decision making process at the moment of truth. Really wondering how you got him to this point. We were always working on his state of mind with Brittany and Alxis at Instinct Dog Training in Fresno, but you and ROcky are light years ahead. Good Job and THANK YOU again.

The biggest difference I noticed with Rocky, is that Sean took over the handling of the leash is Sean's body language. He was more relaxed and that transmitted down the leash to Rocky. The size of the collar doesn't matter it's the calmness of the handler.
@TheGoodDogTraining
@TheGoodDogTraining 10 жыл бұрын
Harmarsch2, you're right that calmness and relaxation are super important, but it also had to use great tools and some serious training strategies. Prong collar, Pet Convincer, 180's, small pops etc. he's a tough cookie!

Hey blackdogxx I'm sure you didn't miss much in that 15 minutes. I"m sure Sean just grabbed the leash and the dog fell in line with leadership and calmness Sean transfers to the leash.
@blackdogxx
@blackdogxx 10 жыл бұрын
You just said exactly what I saw when I watched this again (after Sean's latest update of Rocky alone inside). As soon as Sean took the leash, Rocky started to relax and get quiet. The woman was pulling him on a prong collar... not ' pops ' and taking leadership. That tells me the handler was inadvertently encouraging Rocky to be out of control from lack of a consistent leader with good timing and technique.
