I like too much the idea of two cabins truck!!! Supose a group of trailerd between two cabins, one in the rear of the and one in the back( in opositte direction like this trucks). Then you would have A REAL TRUCK TRAIN 😂!!! It could be used to transport freight or passengers.

I operated a 710A Champion grader for ten years. This machine was nothing but trouble from the day I took control of it. Bolts were coming undone, the final drives became loose, bushes and pins wore out quickly, the diff needed repair the head was replaced. A rubber plug would fall out of the transmission and all the oil would pump out, one blade lift ram would drop at times out of the blue. Eventually the Cummins motor blew up and they replaced it with a Chinese Cummins which made it worse. The only thing i can praise is the reach with the blade was far above other graders dew to the length of the blade lift rams. After they replaced it I operated a Komatsu 555 for ten years and could not fault it. It did a multitude of work and it was a wonderful machine. I've driven many graders and models from Cats, John deers, Mitsubishi and Komatsu. I started my grader career driving an old 12E cat which my father drove for many years. I called it the wrist rattler as it made your hands, wrists, and arms sore by the end of the day. Thirty years I spent on graders and would recommend it to any young man who wants to do this type of work. Seeing what you have achieved at the end of the job is the most rewarding. My father said that too. Cheers from Nev.

I remember when Mack used to display their M-75SX dump trucks at the Allentown Fair back in the 1970s. Not as big as the M-100SX, but still a massive machine!

Restored AND operational. A machine like that was not built to sit and rust. It should be fully operational to show just how powerful, robust (you said) and reliable. Don't waste time on new metal work and a fancy paint job. Make it run.

The 100T should be used in rough forming highways that are new nowadays. So many projects use machines that are still huge but not on that mammoth scale. So 20 -50 tonne diggers and dozers get to work for months on end trying to achieve what a pair of those 100 T s' could rough out in a few weeks or days readying the site for the smaller machines to finish. Canadians bring a lot of genius to the world but perhaps it is the transport of such work which leaves us longing for what we may never have due to it being left on the shelf. The ACCO is another example of brilliance just wasted. 😮‍💨

I’m for one thing that this design actually is rather innovative and likely does and will have a resurgence of sorts. Yes, we’ve got the things like from Volvo, but as stated in your video, the things from Volvo that are being built and such are purely just for operation in places like large Seaports and stuff like that. But at the same time I would think trucks like this could be Remely useful. I think the only real thing that would need to be altered would be the simple fact that there would probably need to be cameras or sensors of some kind on it to alleviate the visibility problem. For one thing trucks like this or maybe calling it a “truck” doesn’t really work but vehicles like this. You definitely do have a place. I can certainly see the passenger coming into use simply as a essentially oversize long haul bus for traveling and such. After all accompany like Greyhound would probably jump at the opportunity to have a bus system like this, that would allow them to transport larger numbers of passengers. The cube van design specifically, the one where the trailer part or whatever you wanna call it is literally on top is definitely another interesting idea. The only thing that I would be concerned about would be the possibility of the unit being to top-heavy and therefore running the risk of it rolling onto its side. Either way vehicles like this definitely I feel could be useful. The only things that I think would need to change would be a combination of safety features and probably other kinds of regulations. But overall, I think they could work.

I already have trouble seeing around high hedges in my sports car. More than once pulled in front of a vehicle because I couldn't see over an obstacle so I have to really lay on the accelerator to keep from causing an accident. Can't imagine how much worse visibility is in THAT monstrosity let alone how to recover from those situations when your 0 to 60 time is measured in minutes.

You make a good point about the visibility issues in larger vehicles compared to sports cars. It’s important to consider these challenges when designing and operating such vehicles. Thanks for your comment.

I’ll make a comment here. My name is Marty, the video from Backyard Barnfinds was shot by me and Parker edited and posted it to his channel. As with the other videos, people focus on the trailer and the decision to leave it. Obviously this was not a quick decision, but the trucks location in NYC made it for us. The permit cost wasn’t an issue, but the trailers physical size is. The trailer is 80ish feet long and 14-15 feet wide. Moving something so long and wide in 1 piece through Queens and Brooklyn is pretty much impossible. The only way it would’ve been able to leave is either cutting it up, or paying huge money to barge it off the island it’s sitting on. And once it’s at Gary’s, which by the way, this video got the collections name and information completely wrong, something still has to be done with it. It takes up a lot of space even in a collection of 100+ antique Mack’s. The Mahan foundation is dedicated to preserving trucking history, but Gary is a Mack Collector first and foremost and that trailer isn’t that important in the grand scheme of things. If you’re interested in this sort of thing visit Parker’s channel and enjoy the two videos I shot actually moving the truck to NJ.
