Can it vibrate first, and then go into increasing stimulation levels if barking continues? Or is it only vibrate OR stimulate/increasing stimulation?
@OnlyTheBestForOurPets11 күн бұрын
I am pretty sure it has to be set to one or the other, Vibrate Or Auto Increase. The only way to switch from vibrate to stimulation is manually on the collar or through the app. The Auto Increase setting can only be applied to stimulation level.
@steveanimatrix388711 күн бұрын
@@OnlyTheBestForOurPets That's a shame. I think it would be really useful to give them a vibration as a "warning" first. Thank you so much for answering.
@OnlyTheBestForOurPets10 күн бұрын
My Pleasure!! I actually just called Dogtra to ask because I was kind of surprised. Not sure if this is helpful for you or not but technically, it will always vibrate before it gives a stimulation. So you could set the auto increase to start at 0 and it will vibrate and then give a level 0 correction. So that is basically a warning but then after that, if it automatically increases, it is going to vibrate and then stimulate at whatever level it has moved up to. So if you have the collar starting at 0, you can at least give a warning there, just not as it automatically moves higher. If you have the collar set to a specific stimulation level without Auto Increase, it will also vibrate and then give the stimulation.

How would this work for a German Shepard/husky mix that "digs" at the bottom of the crate like crazy and has bent and broken the bottom pieces on the wire crates?
@OnlyTheBestForOurPets17 күн бұрын
I've seen dogs scuff it up by scratching but I have never actually seen a dog crack or break through the plastic. It is one of the thickest plastic crates I've ever seen. Like I say in the video, as a trainer, this is my go to plastic crate for dogs that are known to break out of crates. In my experience, it works great!!

Will it correct if another dog barks other than the one wearing the collar?
@OnlyTheBestForOurPets28 күн бұрын
I did not personally have that issue. If you end up trying out the collar, I would just start on "count only" to see if it is registering other dogs barking. If it is, you may have to go into the sensitivity settings in the app and adjust as needed. I had the mic sensitivity set to 2 out of 5.

@OnlyTheBestForOurPetsАй бұрын
haha it really just depends on what people are looking to accomplish. Different tools for different situations! Generally speaking, I would rather use a remote based E-collar like the 1900 but this may work well for very specific situations. I would imagine this collar could be helpful for separation anxiety or working dogs that are required to stay quiet while formally working. Like I say in the video, there are probably other trainers out there that specialize more in the uses of this type of collar.

I have a 1 year old Doberman and I’m trying to decide. He needs just that extra touch for training. He can be very stubborn when encountering another dog or animals. He can lose his mind and not much can get his attention off of it
@OnlyTheBestForOurPetsАй бұрын
I have definitely used the Arc and the 1900s for Doberman in the past and I would imagine either one would work. The main consideration is probably going to be based around his expected size at maturity. If he is going to be on the smaller side, the Arc may seem a little less bulky. If he is expected to be 70 lbs or more, the 1900s may be more appropriate. The Arc is not quite as strong so there is a chance you may get stuck using the higher end of the stimulation levels. I personally don't mind if collars are a little bulky so if I am ever on the fence, I usually go with the stronger collar. I would rather use low numbers on the 1900s than high numbers on the Arc. It is always better to have some wiggle room to move up in stimulation.

I’m late this this but recommendation for a 40lb Heeler? I want the 1900s only due to the lack of vibration intensity on the ARC. Is the ARC vibration as bad as people say?
@OnlyTheBestForOurPets3 ай бұрын
The vibrate on the 1900s is slightly stronger than the Arc. It has never really been a problem for me with either collar but I don't really use the vibrate feature that much in my training. The Arc will probably seem less bulky for a Cattle dog but I have definitely used the 1900s with Heelers before. If you can deal with the 1900s collar being a little bigger, it does not hurt to have a slightly stronger vibration and a slightly higher capacity for stimulation when it comes to these working breeds.
@dylanprice45813 ай бұрын
@@OnlyTheBestForOurPetsit looks like the 1900s it is. Thank you for your reply! My heeler is on the skinner side but it won’t be on 24/7 anyway, only during training sessions/walks and that’s it. I doubt it’ll interfere too much
@christianh.47432 ай бұрын
Hello, I have a heeler and got the arc. We also got the enhanced contact points for his badger like neck lol. The vibrate is quite weak compared to any other collar I've seen. But I don't use it really at all. My boy is quite sensitive, in personality, and to stimulation but doesn't care about any collar vibration. 2-3, 5 boost for home/ yard work. Outdoor, depending on environment, 5-7 stimulation and 12-15 boost. He's been a journey of love to get him working. He was a vet tech school adoptee at a 1 1/2 year, extremely reactive, and just a wayward boy. He's now off leash trained, and we're working on our bedbug detection certification. The arc is not the end-all be-all solution. But it's a tool that helped make where we are now possible. I got the arc for the low profile, but trust your gut and whatever you do, do it for the betterment of your pup. :)

I would bypass that mid-west wire crate. My hybrid demolished that wire crate so I'm pretty sure it won't last for a pittie. After several other crates being "eaten" by my dog, I finally invested in an airline-approved sky-crate. That crate lasted for years and through several large dogs. Try as he may, my hybrid was not able to damage that crate or get out of it unless I let him out. It was expensive, but it was worth the expense.
@OnlyTheBestForOurPets5 ай бұрын
Oh yeah, I believe it! Unfortunately, you can only really use wire crates for certain dogs in certain situations. I use that same 48" Petmate Sky-Kennel all the time, it is one of my favorite crates. I've trained a lot of dogs and I don't think I have ever seen one break out of that model.
@summersands81055 ай бұрын
@@OnlyTheBestForOurPets I swear by that airline-approved crate. After I got that I could fix the damage that was done to my home, clothes, and shoes. I will never forget coming home from work one day and walking into my home to the literal carnage I encountered. I thought someone had broken into my house...LOL My house was toilet papered, had ripped-up suits, half-eaten shoes, and chunks of foam rubber all over the place. I totally freaked out and went looking for my dogs. I found them in my trashed spare room laying in the middle of a mattress they had dug/ripped a hole in. The mattress had to be thrown out as there was no way to fix it. That was the day we went to PetsMart and invested in the crate...LOL Life was good, for me, after that. ;o)

That's a massive size difference! Looks like it's the ARK for me.
@OnlyTheBestForOurPets6 ай бұрын
Yeah , the 1900 is definitely bulky in comparison. I really like the 1900 but the dog has to be big enough for it to fit without looking HUGE. Generally, the Arc works well for most large dogs and the 1900 is going to be for XL dogs or large dogs that just absolutely need the stronger stimulation.

Well explained!! I just got the Dogtra 1900S Handsfree Plus. Do you have any video on that? Or any tips! Thank you!
@OnlyTheBestForOurPets6 ай бұрын
I do not have a video on that yet but I will try to make one down the road! I do not have as much experience with all of the different hands free models but I can at least walk you through the basics. 1.) The "handsfree" button has to be within roughly 30 feet of the remote. 2.) Whatever level the remote is on is the output the button will administer. 3.) You can pair up to 14 additional buttons. So if you wanted a separate button for nick, vibrate and continuous you could buy a few extra buttons and pair them. 4.) In order to pair the button I think you need to start with the remote off. Press and hold the on button AND whatever button you want to pair simultaneously until you see the flashing pairing light and then you can release. Then just press and hold the handsfree button for roughly 3 long seconds. From there, I think you should be good to go!

@OnlyTheBestForOurPets I have a 45 lb Blue Heeler. I bought the 1900s handsfree but the receiver was so big on his neck. Do u think this one would be a good fit? Or what would u suggest? Thanks.
@OnlyTheBestForOurPets5 ай бұрын
If you think the 1900s is too big, you will probably love the Arc. It still works up to 3/4 of a mile and it is definitely going to fit a Heeler much better. The 1900s has a stronger level of stimulation and that can be nice for a working breed dog but the Arc should work just fine.

I have a 6 month old German Shepherd/Pyrenees mix, she was a rescue. I’ve been stuck trying to decide between the ARC and 1900s, she’s just under 60lbs at the moment and isn’t very responsive to slip leads but is very responsive to prong corrections. I am leaning towards the arc because she is about 80% reliable with only verbal recall with distractions but I don’t want to buy a collar that she’ll outgrow in a couple months. The thicker hair around her neck and her estimated adult size (115 or so) make me a bit concerned about the arc making good connection.
@OnlyTheBestForOurPets6 ай бұрын
It's hard to say without meeting your pup but based on the estimated weight, I would probably go with the 1900s. Because she is so big, it will definitely fit well and it will give you some extra room to go up with stimulation level (if needed). I don't think you need to worry about her physically out-growing the Arc but she may "out-grow" the stimulation level. Worst case scenario, you may get stuck using the higher end of the stimulation settings more regularly. It definitely sounds like you will need longer contact points for whichever collar you end up with!

@@OnlyTheBestForOurPets Thank you so much! I was originally looking at the 1900 but after seeing everyone rave about the ARC I wasn’t sure, the training facility I work at exclusively trains on educators but I’ve heard really good things about dogtra and wanted to try them out on my own pup

Thank you for your video. I've had dogtra in the past (excellent brand) and needed to buy a new one now. I was wondering if I could go down to the ARC vs the 2300ncp. But your so right, better to have the model that has more leverage to give a bigger shock if I need it. It's for my Anatolian Shepherd.
@OnlyTheBestForOurPets7 ай бұрын
Absolutely my pleasure! Oh Wow, surprisingly I don't see Anatolian Shepherds all that often. The few that I have worked with have really been awesome dogs. Yeah, as a dog trainer I am always trying to minimize risk so when in doubt, I would rather have the stronger collar. If it ends up being a little stronger than what we need we can always keep it at a lower setting.

Which one would you recommend for a Doberman? The arc or 1900
@OnlyTheBestForOurPets20 күн бұрын
Sorry for the delay! It kind of depends on the size. I've used both with a lot of success. I am usually going to use the 1900s for Doberman on the bigger side of the scale or for a Doberman that is highly excitable. The 1900s is a bit bulkier so if that bothers you, you can go with the Arc but you might end up using the higher end of the stimulation levels.
@johnnottahcal57258 ай бұрын
Can the 1900S control a German Shepard that is a good dog but very protective over his turf. I know I need to 1st train what is acceptable behavior first but I’m hoping this can help control his rude behavior when accidental off-leash incounters with steet walkers in the neighborhood happen. The dog is 2 months old and about 60lbs at this time.
@OnlyTheBestForOurPets8 ай бұрын
If you have the proper foundation put in place and the equipment is introduced/used appropriately, I am sure the 1900 will will do the trick. The 1900s is one of the strongest collars I have worked with so I know it definitely has the capacity BUT.....I can only speak on my experience as a professional dog trainer. I have seen a lot of "trainers" use ecollars the wrong way and it kind of limits the effectiveness. So I would recommend you find a reputable trainer to help you through the process. (Especially if your pup is only 2 months old)
