Thanks for this Meshroom video. I have a need for some 3D scanning but don't want to have another device dedicated to that, not just the cost, but at this point, it's becoming a real hassle to clutter my life with extraneous stuff, particularly electronics that are soon outdated. Photogrammetry appealed to me because I already have a digital camera, and honestly, I need to make maybe 100 scans over the next couple of years so a little extra time and effort on each is less problematic than dealing with a dedicated 3D scanner. I watched the no narration video on the Meshroom website and they were dragging stuff at the bottom to graphically connect modules to configure software modules and it looked so complicated that I couldn't imagine how this was recommended as the best open source photogrammetry software. This video made it look easy. I'll download the Linux version and give it a try, even though my computer is light on image processing resources. I recently had to get a new graphics card. If I'd known I was going to run software that needs a good GPU, I'd have spent another $100 or $200 on a super fast AMD graphics card. 🙂 Edit To Add: As expected, Meshroom dragged my computer to a crawl, locking it up for a time when I imported 18 cell phone images. Otherwise, Meshroom looked good and way more powerful than I need. I should probably focus on getting good images on my Casio camera, upgrade from 16 GB of RAM to 32 GB, and install a smoking graphics card in my i7 based computer. Meshroom recommends Nvidia CUDA for the Linux version but Linux traditionally hasn't played well with Nvidia cards.

@@BlenderRookie Good guy!🤗Have HD versions been made of these series later?
@BlenderRookie9 күн бұрын
@@Hazardteam I know TNG, Picard and Enterprise is available in bluray because I have them in bluray. I think the original is also available in bluray, but I only have it in DVD. However, DS9 and Voyager will likely never be available in HD because most or all the original recordings were recorded to studio grade video tape instead of film. It was a fairly common practice in the 90s, being that film was way more expensive to process, video tape was way cheaper and easy to edit.

I've kinda been abscent doing other things . . . I'd kinda like to say I've seen something interesting too: on a small pond there was a huge, around 1m wide hole in in the ice whith flow channels eminating from it . . these are called "lake stars" and are pretty cool natural formaion but it's hard to find any videos about then as not many exist

Where can I get a fracture setting?
@BlenderRookie11 күн бұрын
That version is no longer being updated. Here's the most recent version and it's so outdated it no longer works. github.com/scorpion81/blender-fracture/releases/tag/v2.77a As of now I seriously doubt it will ever be updated to the new versions of blender. However there's another version by a different developer. I have not tried it and I don't know how similar it is, but it looks like it will do the same thing and more. The people running this channel I believe are the creators. kzbin.info/www/bejne/sHObeYJ4eZ6Gg80 And here's the addon. Unfortunately is a paid addon. Which is why I have not tried it. blendermarket.com/products/rbdlab I don't know of any up to date free ones.

I unable to add project.. every time clicked Get Started.. it keeps saying " You must have rendered at least 10 frames to be able to add a project" Why is that? and how to render other's people project?
@BlenderRookie12 күн бұрын
It's a community based render farm, that's why a person who uses the service must also contribute. As to how, goto the get started tab www.sheepit-renderfarm.com/getstarted and select the client for your OS.

Dude, please give some advice to speed up baking physics in blender, except buying new hardware 😁. If try simulate more than 100k particle or 10k RBD object it take forever time to bake.
@BlenderRookie12 күн бұрын
Unfortunately there's not much that can be done. The only advice is experience that comes over time and you will get a better idea about the minimal number of substeps or steps per second that is needed. Mostly it's a hurry up and wait thing.

Hi Rokie, amazing work! I’m looking to learn the photomatch technique to design organic surfaces, then unfold them for plasma cutting to produce steel bases similar to 'Flowyline' designs. Could you make a small course or tutorial on this workflow in Linux? I’m willing to pay for it. Thanks!
@BlenderRookie16 күн бұрын
I'm not 100% sure I understand what you are talking about. It seems like you are talking about photogrammetry. Which is the process of creating a 3D object out of several images. I do have a tut for that but it's windows. However, the program I used I believe is also available for linux and Blender I also believe is. But as far as taking that created object to a CNC file, I have no idea. But here's the photogrammetry tut. kzbin.info/www/bejne/hmKkg4ymYtiBmsU

i am willing to bet that dog is being abused by that guy
@BlenderRookieАй бұрын
If the owner is abusive, we have never seen it. The dog does not seem fearful of the owner and he doesn't seem timid of other people. He seems happy slappy. I am pretty sure it was frustration on the part of the guy lifting on the leash, being that this was the 2nd or 3rd time he escaped in a week and by the time he found Petie, he had already been looking for him for over an hour. I wouldn't have pulled on the leash like that. But then again, I would have figured out some way to prevent the dog from climbing the fence.
