I'm having trouble with yarns, could you help me. At present I'm learning how to make bookmarks with just some old wool that was given to me, could you advise me what Is the right yarn to use to make bookmarks, so that have good definition and good quality as they will be given as gifts. I'm starting to get frustrated with everything as I'm a beginner so don't know alot about yarns and there uses. I would really appreciate your help. Thank you. Valerie.

The best yarn to use for something like this I would have to say is probably going to be cotton yarn. It's sturdy, the stitches give beautiful definition and it's washable so great for those practical items that are going to get a lot of use 😀

Message from Sharon B. I agree Women's Institute yarn is lovely. I do think a lot of their yarns are overpriced however . The other problem is, if you don't buy enough for your project, hard to tell sometimes, they don't have it in stock for long. It can be difficult to get anymore . 😢

@CrocreatebySarah
@CrocreatebySarah Ай бұрын
Hi, there is a lot of people out there that knit with acrylic as it's more accessible for people on a budget. I always make sure my videos are entitled 'yarn' to ensure I'm not click baiting anyone into thinking they're getting specific animal fibres. I'm so sorry you don't like acrylic yarn but there are sooooo many people out there that do 👍🏻

I too love the Prym hooks. I love the size and shape of the handle and need much less wrist movement while working. I also love the nice pointy hook end. But I have found the shaft has become scratched and much less slippery. I can now hear the yarn on the shaft. I think this is because I have been using acrylic yarn.
