Hickory had a bad turnover game. Taking out the QB who can handle snaps in a close 3rd quarter game and snapping to a RB went totally downhill.That 1 yard line fumble cost them a score and being scored on. #5 Ellis Chappell for Hickory is a hell of a wide receiver and very fast. West Charlotte DBs were better than Hickory had seen in there 30 game win streak. They were the difference. Great year for both. Fayetteville 71st is a great running team. The title game will be 71st run vs West Charlotte defensive line.

I wouldn’t say they’re recruiting hard Charlotte to big for that it’s not like it use to be when everybody would flock to mallard creek and plus every year there’s a new high school opening up I know grimley has Gboro on lock with the recruiting 😂

@g-h-l it's true. I live in Charlotte and cover high school football. The way they acted at Erwin was awful, and Hickory was not much better. They are a great team but lack any class at all!

@PowidzMalwa West Charlotte just beat a team that was 11-1 by a score of 58-0, then beat two undefeated powerhouse teams, Dudley and Hickory by multiple scores. They are as hot as it gets and now it's on a neutral field. I believe they will win by 28 plus. Nothing against 71st, but it's just WC year!

@78dogrun I think its going to be a very good game. West Charlotte may very well win but not by 28 points. You say West Charlotte is hot, that's true, but 71st has been hot for 3 years now. Got to eastern finals in 2022, and state title game now 2 years in a row. They are tough, nobody is routing 71st.

I ONLY watched 9 minutes of this video. NUMBER 2 WAS THE WEAKIEST LINK for HPCA. If he wasn't a lights out shooter why was he on the court? He couldn't defend because of his lack of height, ability etc etc. Is he a senior, coaches son. Boosters son or what?? He cost the team about 8-10 points deference in the only 9 minutes that I watched. Lack of defense or offensive production on his part. He might be a great kid but a bench player not a starter.

This is embarrassing! Whoever ranks teams in NC should be fired! No way this team is even a top 20 team in NH! They had one drive on the positive side of the field! WTH! Please tell me that NC HS is not this trash! I maybe a little spoiled from seeing TX, OH, and GA football.

Erwin is a very rural area, they garnered a 1 seed by going undefeated against other very rural schools. The mountain/rural teams definitely don't represent NC football accurately; the remaining teams in 3A are light years better than Erwin and some other teams that got blown out last week.

Today, Dec 6th Greensboro Dudley is next for West Charlotte. Most think Dudley will win based on their history of winning. I predict this West Charlotte team can get it done. Film don’t lie though. Those West Charlotte linemen are big but 2 of them didn’t block a thing all night. Erwin #1 seed is damn joke. Except for ACR High, those mountain teams are pitiful and play weak opponents. They get on flat land they get demolished in the playoffs.If they didn’t get cupcakes for 2 rounds they would not make it to the second round. Got blew out 58-0. Jeez. I predict West Charlotte vs Hickory High Tornadoes in the western finals to determine who goes to the state title game.
