It’s a very common talking point about this film that if Indiana Jones wasn’t involved, everything would have turned out the same. (The villains would have still found the ark, and still been destroyed by the wrath of God whether Indy was there or not). So I find it very interesting that you claim Indiana Jones in this movie is “the most active character in movie history”, but also that he isn’t even the hero of his own story! That shows us something about how we are meant to live (especially as men) with God being the hero of our lives, and yet that does NOT mean we are passive men. Sometimes we find ourselves trusting ourselves (like Indy at the start of the film), until we have to admit we have no plan (“I dunno, I making this up as I go” - Indiana Jones), until eventually we have to bow before God (shut our eyes and not look) and trust that He will take care of things. Though all audiences might not pick up on that, it’s a detail you can share with your family and it allows them to experience a story that plays out that aspect of the Gospel for them in a fun and intriguing way! Don’t apologize for over analyzing! A solid movie can stand on its own and be analyzed to the nth degree to reveal hidden themes, subtext, and character motivations. I think it’s a great gift to introduce your family to a movie that is so good they can be chewing on it still days later and realize subtle things that also reflect the Gospel. Thank you for both of your input!

Great stuff Figwit! Thanks for chiming in! Love your point about our being active but, at the same time, not being the Savior! Excellent!

@@RocketPopReviews Well the loss of "Truth, Justice, and the American way. When Supes and Lois Lane fly pass the WTC and the Statue of Liberty (aka Freemason Pillars and Apollyon) reminds me how the evil in the government have manipulated all the Americans. But Superman the Movie is the only good positive superhero movie. Lots of movies out there for you guys to review through the prism of Christianity.

Totally agree... it's not only nostalgic (we were so less cynical as a society; so much more innocent), but gives us a PURELY GOOD hero! Amazing!

@@RocketPopReviews Well I'm from NJ/NYC area and it was pretty bad with the blacks and hispanics back in the early 70's. So, not so innocent. Maybe before WWI, Maybe. Those at the top knew what they were doing. Still Doing. Agenda 2030 coming up. Review Amadeus, The Mission (Robert DeNero), On the Beach 1965,. Im drawing a blank at the moment.

This video is very informational because it honestly tells us what wild robot is and tells us why we should keep our kids away from it, and also gives us the argument of the other person instead of giving us only one view. Wow a properly informational video that gives you an unbiased opinion.

May I ask what you have against California? Clearly false prophets and propaganda have lied to you. Your remark shows me that you don’t believe Matthew 25:34…. “For I was hungry and you gave me something to eat, I was thirsty and you gave me something to drink, I was a stranger and you invited me in, I needed clothes and you clothed me, I was sick and you looked after me, I was in prison and you came to visit me.’ Sadly, the politicians in states like Texas and Florida as well as past presidents you seem to support by mocking California do not follow the Word. Maybe churches will return to endorse the true word of God- you can read it in your Bible! But you won’t. You’re being played to vote against your self interests. Read the Bible for yourself.

@8:50 I myself don't think Hackman was "hammy" at all. Don't agree with that characterization. But he was definitely the comic book character, excellently done. Best part of the film imo was the Gauntlet or his debut with the helicopter. @11:30 uhh, no it's not a bad ending. At all. Unless you call adapting the actual COMIC BOOKS as bad. That literally happened with Lois dying and Superman changing time, I'm sure reporting the famous source material is NOT called bad. Also it's not a super power for him, it's a rare unique ability that he could use once in awhile. It's not like heat vision or arctic breath where he can use it at will anytime. He's probably got 3 or 4 left of use. And it's so rare he's not allowed to use it to interfere, it was strictly"FORBIDDEN". So it was actually a great ending, showing the lengths he'll go to for his love of Lois via presenting the source material's nature and accurate facts. Btw what was your thoughts on Superman's CGI cameo in the Keaton Batman/flash movie?
@clydethurman20372 ай бұрын
Totally agree
@RocketPopReviews2 ай бұрын
Thanks Paul!! Love your detailed comments! You should know that we adore Hackman. It's probably fairer to say that the character is written broadly... I mean they very idea that Otis would be working for a world-class criminal is... improbable... but you are fully justified in slapping our hands for calling Hackman's performance hammy. Fair enough. Also: I understand that the movie was faithful to the comic... but it's still a cheat. Independent of the source material, it breaks rules of screenwriting. Even my 12yo daughter, when watching it with me, started stomping around the room, she was so dissatisfied. When you bring in an unknown lever of control for the good guy in the climax, it's simply not satisfying. We want the filmmakers to create a scenario so that the hero we already know can push himself beyond what he thinks is possible... but within the already defined constraints. Anyway... As for CGI cameos... we love ANYTHING that references old films. Any reference to already created hero myths is, we think, good for new/modern audiences!

I'm not sure you ARE in the supreme court... do you mean the galactic council in the beginning of Superman? I don't think you're in THAT court either; most of those people are long dead. Wait, is this comment coming from the underworld, the land of the dead? If so... we do not accept those kinds of comments. It violates some kind of rules of conduct or something if you've traveled over the River Styx. Really sorry. Anyway, like and subscribe! Tell your undead friends!
