Thanks for posting this. Because 20th Century Fox put almost zero promotion behind, "Nightmare Alley", (Studio boss Darryl Zanuck didn't like his leading man Tyrone Power seen in this) it is amazing The Jack Benny show satirized/spoofed a movie few had seen, but you could still get the idea of the story. The idea of Jack Benny and his cast in a carnival sideshow was fun right there!

@@otrgold I have been wanting to hear a recording of, "We the People" (CBS) hosted by Dwight Weist, broadcast on October 28, 1947. Would you be able to access that or tell we where I could? Thanks!

I missed the live, so I am listening and watching now. It sucks. I mean it is just much better with you guys. 💜 @Life with Roscoe won't be at the movie tonight? 😛 Roscoe, I can't even remember anyone from HS. I hope you have a good time. Omg, I feel so left out watching this now! @OTR Gold, you forgot your water bottle? You are not setting a good example, do better! Lol Phooey, I missed a poll (Split Screen, Split Screen!). @Alfredo the Tuxie & the Mice (Spice) stepping up with the "Hit Like," reminders! We got you Austin. 🤗Good episode, with lots of action and whatnot. Oh, nice! Detour! Can't wait. TY OTR Live! Post next week's schedule in your Community Posts. Oh, I forgot about questions For Ms Webber. Ugh. Your wife sounds funny.

Something I've noticed but never mentioned before: You look like you're from the Golden age of radio. 😊 I swear you could be photoshopped into a picture from the 30's-50's and nobody would know it. Except for the ballcap, of course. I hope you take that as the compliment it's meant to be. 😊

Ive heard this episode several times on SiriusXM, including a couple times last week. It's one of the saddest episodes that doesn't involve murder. Because of the con artists' victims already having suffered such personal loss and then being taken by the criminals for money is just salt in the wound.

Compare "Calling All Cars" episode, _"Flaming Tick of Death"_ with this episode. It features a flashback of the suspect desperate for money aiming to rob the people in the house along with (a voice characterization of a) parrot.

@@jeffreyberkin-ez3uh which Suspense episode is your favorite?
@jeffreyberkin-ez3uh21 күн бұрын
@@otrgoldThanks for the question. My favorite is "August Heat" with Ronald Coleman. Interesting that this story was done twice, but the Coleman version is the best, IMO. There are several reasons. The story is fascinating, Coleman's voice was wonderful, the music was great, Dennis Hoey was excellent, and the version was timely, given world events.❤
