Really enjoyed watching and like you said use this show as a training show and you know what you need to do for next year.

I just love that in the UK you almost always lead horses off the trailer head first. I don’t understand why we insist on backing them off here in the U.S. It causes more accidents!
@Siobhan_Shivaun13 күн бұрын
That looked great fun! Wouldn't mind going to it myself. Maybe next year if I'm not so shook and am back to the riding again 🙏🙏 Loved the musical ride!

Because these horses have had so little schooling, ground work and education, it wise to literally start again. He’s obviously got real talent and ability but has no idea what or how to deal with his TB mind. In hand leading and schooling to quiet and relax his mind. I do hope your bruises and swellings heal quickly.
@The.Connie.Chronicles2 ай бұрын
Yeah I should have realised that even though he wasn’t showing signs of being anxious up until this day, it was there under the surface! But we have stripped it back now, we’ve been doing more with him on the ground and hacking out in a group just in walk so he realises he can have a nice relaxing time with other horses, not racing 😊
@equestrianmelissaeventing2 ай бұрын
Ouch, such a shame to end it like that. My new ex-racer has a thing where she just goes scatty when she's asked to stand still...she fidgets and seems like she will stand then she just darts off and spins around. She probably would do something like that if being asked to stand with others....😬
@The.Connie.Chronicles2 ай бұрын
It was unfortunate! But it taught me not to rush even if the horse seems to be taking on everything quite easily. A lot of them don’t like to stand still, he definitely prefers to be on the move. It’s something he’ll have to learn gradually
@chelsea_belle2 ай бұрын
Ok i really like that you had a mic on throughout, you know like rather than like a voice over or something, as i think most people probably just assume you use your heels or 'kick' to have the horse transition from walk to trot/canter etc when it's actually very much voice 'commands' with alot of asking of them to do this and that, e.g. "whoa-oa" sounds to slow and tongue clicks and whatnot. So yea it's nice to see that demonstrated 😊😊 Reminds me very much of my riding days, so thankyou 😊😊

Just found your channel and enjoy your vlogs. Can I ask why George is kept at a different yard?
@The.Connie.Chronicles3 ай бұрын
Thank you! George needs quite a bit of work and we have no arena at home, we also only have three stables! Once the fields dry up at home and I can ride in them I will bring him home though 😊

Equi-Jewel is great for weight gain. Pricey but worth it. As an Australian, it's interesting to see what other people are feeding their horses.
