Thanks for posting. I have this album, somewhere, got it around twenty-four years ago, from an former acquaintance's family, one of five albums, as a Christmas present. It was my favorite of the five LOL.

Charlie and my dad were good friends and he and the band would stay at our house when they played the WWVA Jamboree in Wheeling WV….I filled in on bass when he didn’t have one. Henry Dockery was the first to show me things on the upright ❤ Butch’s family and mine are related through marriage .

My daddy bought this album at a Stanley Brothers show in royalton ky. I was with him and got carter’s autograph. I was five years old. I still have it but at the time it is on loan to a museum.

Did you fall in love with the Stanley's music when you're five, CAROLU? I'm curious. :-) Take

@ Long before that. My father is a banjo player and plays much like Ralph. He had all the Stanley recordings. He’s almost 90 now and hasn’t played in a while. Thanks for asking, Take. I started school when I was five and I used to sing “Keep Them Cold Icy Fingers Off Of Me” in the first grade so I’d been listening a while by then. But couldn’t have been too long given my age😊

Brings back memories of my time in Texas back in the 1970's! There was no escaping Al Dean's version of "Cotton-Eyed Joe" back then. It was on every jukebox and radio station in Texas for years.

Their version of “Your Cheatin’ Heart” would make Hank proud. Their resonator guitar player is up there with Oswald. That one song made my whole day.

Dixie Bill and the Range Riders are completely new to me! They certainly had a very authentic Texas Swing feel. Seems so strange that this is as recent as 1986. And from Germany! Cheers Take, this is wonderful and so are you!
