I took it out for a test run and got about 2 hours of runtime on the lights before I fried my power converters. I guess they were made for pushing out that much power. So I bought an Actual flounder gigging light instead of the work lights and will be using that but I haven’t gone out since. Season is coming back up for gigging in September. Hopefully I can get a good video then

@@BondedByBrine Hey I went out about 3 weeks ago and the setup worked great but unfortunately I didn’t see any flounder. Bait fish everywhere but no flounder. I was out for about 3 hours and lights worked great. I used a submersible swamp eye led in the front. Only had about 80-100 yards of area to explore up and down. I spoke to a guy who gigs often and he said I needed to be closer to the inlet.

Just bought this! Waiting on delivery but why did you choose this over the Hobie equivalent?
@gearproguide7 ай бұрын
Awesome! Hope you enjoy it. I went with this model mostly because it’s inflatable and kind of a paddle board/kayak hybrid. So I will get more uses out of it than just fishing. We like to take it out on our boat so the kids can play while at the sandbar, easy storage and of course easy equip with the accessories when I decide to go fishing
@kenjepsen45796 ай бұрын
The reason I'm going with the Bote instead is the pedal drive and instant reverse. I had a Hobie and didn't like it as well for fishing and needing to reverse while fighting a fish. With the Hobie (If it has a 180 drive) you need to drop something to be able to pull the cable..
@guyjsx6 ай бұрын
@@kenjepsen4579 I like the pedal drive a lot! Not having reverse would be tough, I feel like I have a lot of control even in windy conditions. One thing I can’t get over is the inflatable seat. I spend most of the day trying to get it adjusted and haven’t figured it out. I’m at the point where I’m going to try and strap a different kayak seat.
@gearproguide6 ай бұрын
@@guyjsx on the inflatable seat I found exactly where I wanted it adjusted and put 2 metal U clamps on the straps so they don’t change. I also adjusted them pretty tight meaning the back basically leaning forward so when I put pressure on it leaning back it’s perfect

Just curious why buy an inflatable with its many disadvantages if you aren't going to take advantage of the main reason to buy one? Leaving it inflated You might as well have bought a regular kayak or paddle board. I mean sure it's a little lighter to move around but being a grown man that shouldn't be a deciding factor.
@gearproguide8 ай бұрын
Good question, really just to have the option for travel and storage. I do have an irocker ultra inflatable paddle board that I do deflate each time and have taken on vacations, just haven’t broken down this one because of all the accessories I have on it. Also when it comes to hard paddle boards I don’t think you can get one with a pedal drive and all the optional fishing accessories. Kayak yes, there are tons of options out there.
@mtp049874 ай бұрын
What’s being a grown man got to do with anything? What a backward Neanderthal way of thinking. Inflatable sup are more stable. Even grown men like lightweight, stable paddle boards.

Ok. Another question, since you didn't show the complete repacking. Did you end up unrolling it and folding in the sides, then folding it inward? How did you get the seats in there? This would have been great to include in the video. Repacking is always the hardest part.
@gearproguide Жыл бұрын
I lay it out flat, pull the side in and start rolling from the opposite side of then valve so air can escape while folding up. I don’t use my hand pump so that’s not in the bag giving me some more room for the seat. I also don’t use both paddles since I’m usually by myself so that helps with space also in the bag

My oru lake has made me more mobile with my car- allowed me to sell my truck and have my kayak for any water body but Once on the water I’m not nearly as mobile as with my SOT kayaks and it’s pretty sad.
