I really got into the Aliens franchise after Romulus. Im really thinking about getting this and I loved Xcom. Is this worth it?

-- I think you'd play better (have better bearings/situational awareness) if you played a farther zoomed out (two down camera). SO many things I want to tell you, but I gave my word. 44:40 - I get the med/tool bag before the ammo bag. But that's just me. I tried to wait until the Marines got a class as well, but sometimes you just have to swing at it. An issue I'm having in the first hour and fifteen is you're not using your command points. I know that's going to change. Not telling you what to do, or, how to use them. You'll get it. Yeah, you should REALLY play farther zoomed out. In that close, it's hurting orientation. 2:00:30 Lost Signal means dead. All you can do is pick up your XP. Move for a massive onslaught, is to call the ARC if you can, move to it, deploy centuries while looking on the map where they're coming from. The red triangle ingress/egress point will be throbbing. That's where they're coming from, then extrapolate what direction from that where they're going to hit you. There is a shortcut button that should take you (camera wise) directly back to your squad. Yeah these onslaughts, if you just used your command points (grenades/shotgun) move to the ARC, and know where they're coming from, you'll have a much easier time. And yes, once they get in your mix, you effed. Solution on save reload: Suppression fire to slow them down. Retribution mode in the menu. Grenade, then another grenade or shotgun in quick succession. And don't get me wrong, save fighting/racing/sports games I know a controller cripples you over the M&K, but I've seen it played with some success with a controller. Never on hard though. You'll get it. There are tools available. But that's the difference with this game. It's a REAL game. Not this power puff shit most games are. This is right back to Contra and Megaman, etc. It doesn't care about you. It doesn't want you to win. As far as the grenade goes, you have to be hitting the wrong button, or you're being interrupted. The (excuse shotgun part) was you were having a second mouth rammed through your face. In that time before the onslaught you should be packing that gun, moving to the ARC and posting up with those guns. Think this is good. You're gonna love the mine :^) I don't know why, but from a tactical perspective, this game made perfect sense to me. Maybe that's why I shill for it. Slipped into like it was a natural habitat. Annie did too, even with a the bugs where the game refused to save. Suppose I should remember people are different. I wouldn't judge you if you wanted to throw it in the trash. I should probably do a better job reminding myself that not everyone thinks like me. Probably be a good job for the streams too, right :D Thumbs up.

Seems like an interesting game. Really reminds me of XCOM which is appropriate given the, uh, aliens and whatnot. Can you edit the marines? As in their names, etc? Hope youre well, thumbs upward.

-- Yes ... YES! Embrace the suck. This game doesn't care about you. It wants to beat you. You're there. One thing I found handy, was comparing the time of my save to my wall clock. The little icon pops up and out so fast. Mostly, it helped with me timing episodes ... mostly :^) Every once in a while (problems trying to get to the elevator) you get thwaked with those big aliens. Happens to all of us. You're in a less than ideal situation 2 Marines down. I would struggle with that, but there are 'ways' to lead them away. You also have an effen shotgun.

-- Yeah, just this game, get rid of it. But you already know how I feel. The 1911 to me - in the movie - looks like a Browning High Power chambered in 9mm. Counting how many shots Vasquez takes in the vent shafts suggests that is so. The she ejects the mag and it looks single stack, so ... movies. 36:20 - Yeah, they did a great job with the 'scenery' didn't they. Lot of attention to detail. There's a lot I could say. But this is Aliens. No one's coming ... you're on your own :) Thumbs up Brother.

The scroll bar on the top breaks immersion. Put some tape over it. This is Aliens. Put us there. Probably going to edit this post a lot. And I'd significantly shrink or lose the face cam for this. It's one of those things you just want to get out of the way; let people know what you're thinking, feeling. Annie says you're fast, especially for running a controller. 25:20 - of course you need that projectile. 10mm :D And I have to agree with Annie. Lot of people don't understand move to live (fast). But it's fast and slow. Look at the map often. Not going to give you spoilers, and I'm sure not going to back seat drive. Just using the map and immersion. Get out of the way, look at the map. That's all I got for ya Sarge :) Oh, and last bit. Don't watch mine. I want see what you put together. 38:10 - only one marine has a shotty. You'll get that part. And the tutorial part of this game, story critical, is the crappiest part of the game. If it helps, I never got a strike for the music. Get ready for war Bro.

I loved playing this game with my Step Father Denis when I was 14! We used to use Lan connection with a direct cable between my lapton and his tower; I always lost - I played Tau and Imperial Guard, and he played Orks and Space marines. He played this game when he was my age (20) and truly showed me (A 14 year old) the meaning of superior firepower and wisdom.
