This tutorial is so good that the project looks accessible. I'm serious, I think I could accomplish this. It has inspired me to use gel print creations as cover material. The "lie flat" technology is wonderfully simple. Is there an advantage to using a stretch cord? Thank you for this.

I am new to watercolor, and this was just what I needed! Absolutely stunning, yet I feel like even I could do this with a bit of practice. Thanks so much! Can’t wait to dive in to more of your videos!

Sure would have been nice to SEE the swatches of the paints rather than just the tubes. Just a thought for a future video?

Just made one with things I had in my studio. Saving £8-£10. I used 3 x A3 pages of my favourite WC paper and made a 36 page 4"x3 3/4" perfect little sketch pad for mini water colours and ink and wash paintings on the go. I couldn't be happier with the finished result. I left out the ribbons as I didn't want them getting in the way while I work, I'll use a hair elastic to keep it closed in my bag, and I made the hard back out of an old water colour board, the type you get in cheap art sets that isn't very good quality. Many many thanks for such a great tutorial. 😃x

Secondly, DO NOT use a full size sheet of transfer paper. Cut a small rectangle of the transfer paper, say 4" x 6", and your hand won't rest on the transfer paper causing the smudging you're working so hard to erase. You just move the transfer paper around to accommodate the area you're tracing. No smudging or extra graphite. Saves on the cost of the transfer paper also.

This method is way more complicated than it needs to be. Just buy the right transfer paper to start with. Jack Richeson & Co makes a transfer paper that doesn't smudge or leave extra graphite on the watercolor paper. No need to use an eraser or anything else to clean up the paper.

Wow, it's so shiny that hurts my eyes, haha, just kidding, but it's really amazing. Never thought on using a color as dark as the combination of the neutral tint and raw sienna. You got a pretty realistic golden color. Thank you, Lynn, for that great, detailed tutorial!

Sometimes the brand makes a difference. Qor paints spread much more easily. I think that the Raw Sienna is a bit warmer.

Just a tip: Gaffers tape or self-adhesive cloth tape can typically be found in 3" widths and would eliminate the tape seam.
