I was one time only in El Medano.. about 8 or 9 years ago... i was a windsurfer then.. sortly after started kiting. and i tell you kitesuring is windsurfing on steroids.. just even better.. untill.. sadly i this february in germany i had a realy bad accident with one of my first kiteloops.. was allready familliar for smal ones.. but this time i was totaly ripped apart.. landed bad on my board, and 3 ligaments.. inner ligament, cruciate ligament, patellar tendon and meniscus. everithing was ripped... and 2 weaks later nearly died from it and got a pulmonary embolism. now.. after secound surgery.. can bend my kne only 120 degree, hurts when walking down the stairs.. but luckyla i am at last able to cyclcle again.. but i am afraid.. this dream for me is over.. finaly.. it was the best of all times.. so... stay save first.. take it slow when progressing.. and love each moment out there..

At La Tejita beach kitesurfing was forbidden when I was there.

Crock of shit... One tiny beach . With dangerous rocks at the end .. and the beach is awful blown in grit . Water is choppy and allways way over crowded... 4 kiteschools now . Meaning loads of learners. May have been good years ago ...now way to commercialised. And silly busy .... Don't bother

Que poca vergüenza lo de los pajaros les cortan unas plumas que son las que ellos vuelan para que no puedan salir de ahi nunca, y la gente que piensa en circo de los delfines es lo mismo si no lo hacen no les dan de comida y luego los encierran en una piscina pequeña para ellos si todavia creeis que esta bien miradlo que eso de maltratar a los pajaros no lo veo yo muy bien

🚨🚨🚨 El Medano was a quiet place years ago, not any more, now is THE NOISIEST PLACE IN THE CANARY ISLANDS AND IN SPAIN AND THE REST OF EUROPE 🤕. Minimum about 75-80 days+nights per year with live music in the center of town in front of the beach at incredible volume 🤯 until very late in the night 😵. If you are looking for a quiet place for relax, it is better to choose somewhere several kilometers away from the mega-noisy El Medano 🤢.

Went kitesurfing at El Medano. Definetely not for beginners. No error for mistakes in the water. You will end up on the sharp rocks if you cannot surf upwind. As well on the beach with the limited space there is no room for error.
