Always went here with friends and family in middle school and early highschool. Actually worked at the kohls and currently work at the woodmans right next to mall. It was sad to watch this place crumble and wither. Just such a tragic tale that many malls face these days. I don’t blame Amazon or anything anymore. Places like wood field and other malls show that this style of shopping still works. These just needs to be run by competent people to stay afloat.

How have I lived in Grand Rapids my entire life and hadn't hear of literally any of this!!! Crazy to watch a true crime and recognize every location and recognize some last names. So spine tingling compared to the normal videos.

Go to your local drug store and watch how many people are there getting shopping bags full of drugs. These ppl dont have to scrape up the small fortune it takes to pay for maintenance drugs because they have money and good insurance, so they wont be called drug addicts or have to deal with that stigmata. Drugs dont make you skinny, dirty, and beat up. Having to pay for something like medical maintenance when you have no income , will def cause physical damage.

My friend had told me her sister was murdered when she was young. I asked if she ever tried to find out more and she said no, she was told her pimp had did it. Long story short, I googled her and found out she was killed by the Bigfoot killer. My friend had no idea.

Hi, this is my area mall. This is where IHOP this is where I go hang out with my friends. This is the only model left. Yeah the slow boards are both Michael Cohan a.k.a. great Northern Mall, Clay, New York and Moonbeam capital a.k.a. shopping town mall Dewitt, New York before this one, but then like I said, the slumlord as they are put them out of business so this one rules King Although I think this one was threatened to have a foreclosure on it, but I don’t know how true that was or if they even came out of foreclosure. And I remember Bob, I can’t say his last name Kajal or whatever but I do remember him when he was alive. He was the mastermind of destiny and carousel and he sadly died but I think his son whatever his son‘s name is took this place over. It’s not the same without him here but that’s OK. I’m just happy that we did have him for the time we had him and I could have him for as long as we did. This is a great mall if you think about it if a huge mall but a great mall if you think about it where else in the world would you think of going into the ropes course in wonder Works or go to pull position way or go to bunch of other places that are here. It’s sad because this place lost all of its anchors and I think it’s gonna be the next mall to go, but you never know you never know if Bob’s son will take care of this place and keep it going. The most recent store to leave this mall would’ve been at home, which was in the Ames department store so who knows what else is in store for the small we lost JCPenney we lost Best Buy we lost at home and we lost Lord and Taylor and the bond over the years so now the only two anchor stores Well, three if you think about it, but I don’t know if Hobby lobby is an anchor door because it’s like a Michael’s and Michael’s didn’t last so who knows if Hobby lobby is gonna last two anchor stores keeping Place alive Macy’s and the two level well three store Dick’s Sporting Goods and going going on outlet. I think it’s called in what was the Best Buy. Going going on is a separate store that the part of Dick’s Sporting Goods. So we’ll see only time will tell as to what’s gonna happen to Destiny carousel. In my opinion, I like to split the mall and half when you’re by the carousel and by the big elevators, I say you’re in carousel mall when you go over into the Destiny side, The canyon area or five below is where the racetrack is where Dave & Buster’s says you’re in Destiny USA you’re not in carousel anymore, but some of you are gonna say nope the whole Destiny doesn’t matter where you are Destiny yes it is Destiny all around but for us locals we’re gonna call the famous carousel carousel side and then we’re gonna call the Destiny side Destiny, where the canyon area is. So when you walk into the bridge and come inside, you’re by the isle of New York sign you’re walking in the Destiny and then when you walk where Lord and Taylor is well the abandoned Lord and Taylor is you’re walking antique carousel. I remember this mall back in the day it used to have two competing electronic stores. Hobby lobby was circuit city and then Going, Going, Gone Dick’s Sporting Goods was Best Buy and then I think but I don’t know if I’m correct about this, but there was a Kaufman department store furniture store I think next to circuit city but as far as I know when it was circuit city circus, city neighbor was always empty and abandoned, but I heard it used to be Kaufman furniture and a part of the Macy’s building but when Hobby lobby moved in, they took over both the spaces so there’s no trace of circuit city and or Kaufman‘s furniture anymore. So sad to see the state that this mom is in but hey, I just got a Barnes & Noble I think so. We’ll see how long that lasts. It’s doing OK except for the anchor stores but the entertainment places will keep this mall alive for a little bit longer so let’s see how long this place stays before it goes. And now that the borders are back open in the Canadiens can come back. I’m sure we will get a lot more traffic with the Canadians being allowed to come back because we had a lot of the foot trafficfrom the Canadians before the pandemic but who knows now if they will wanna come back

I love the woodwork aesthetic... it's back in fashion again it seems. Always the cycle I guess. Love the black mosaic wall too. If you changed the railings and some other bits, it's not a bad looking mall!

Once the theatre and the Sbarro's closed, I knew the days were absolutely numbered for Stratford. It's a nice location, but I've seen this sort of decline happen in good eras. The old Orland Park Place Mall in the late 90's it was near empty. I actually preferred it over the Orland Square Mall across the road, but it just lost ground with too many anchor stores going away such as Montgomery Ward's. Fortunately, someone was smart enough to redevelop the plaza into a bustling place of commerce as a regular shopping center with no mall interior. Hopefully, Bloomingdale can manage this here now.

This is what busing and forced integration did to a once great city. Everyone who could afford to move did so not caring what they lost And they were right to do so. Look at this crime infested sewer of a city today .

I remember as a kid in the 90s fl mall was full of stores. It was always full of people and was a weekly trip for my family. Since the early 2000s it has slowly died. What a shame.

What kind of test in school asks that kind of question? "Is someone trying to harm you?" This sounds like it was something made up much later to increase the drama of the mystery, that you're reporting as fact.

Citadel Mall is in an interesting state, as both this and Chapel Hill are both owned by Namdar Realty, who notoriously do nothing with their malls and basically just let them die. But they’re also only about 15 minutes apart from each other so it’s really only a matter of time before we find out which one of the two will actually last. I personally believe it will be Chapel Hills, but I hope they both can survive for a little longer, especially since this mall has a really beautiful food court! It gives quite a bit of vintage flair, which is something I always love to see in malls. Great Video!

Monmouth Mall was THE MALL to go to if you were from Central Jersey. Then, came Freehold Mall. 🤪 I can’t believe what it looks like now! My mom grew up in Eatontown and remembered when it first opened.

I can honestly say since I live very close to the mall. First of all, the security guards stopped me from recording one time I tried to document how dead the mall is. Secondly, people in my area complained for years that there is nothing around and nothing to do. We get a nice mall and it dies. I made the remark that if the mall sold drugs and had open bars, it'd still be thriving. So now there is nothing again. Great work by the local population and all parties involved.

I miss Century III so much; I was always excited to go there even in its dying days. South Hills Village is nice but it doesn't hit the same and the Robinson and Monroeville malls are too out of the way for me.
