This is very nice. What is interesting is the similarity of the sound of the Hardanger fiddle to the kemençe and the closeness of the melodies. There are many songs with kemeçe similar to this style. Interesting kzbin.info/www/bejne/i3OylqCgeNmGrLs

Det er truleg ei fele laga av felemakaren Johannes Bårdson Tveit, ei gong mellom 1820 og 1840. :D

Glimrande spel på god fele! Desse små og gamle vestlandsfelene er ikkje å forakte når dei kjem i rette spelehendene. For meg som er inne i ein Anders Heldal-periode med fire av det slaget i huset (den eldste er fela etter Jens Maurseth frå 1850 med svært kort mensur), så var det stor inspirasjon å sitje rett framfor deg i Gimle i Bergen å høyre kor den gamle fela di fylte rommet.

A Springer dance that I have picked up from a little different places. And it is one of my favorites. The Myllar boy plays the grass on the mountain at Rauland one day. Then there sat a little boy on the floor infront of him and listened intensively. When the Myllar was finished the boy asked if he would play the blue rimmed spirit once again. Because it seemed as he saw blue ridges in a crown when the Myllar played this piece. You'll become a player the Myllar boy said and pointed to the boy. ( not sure what a "Myllargutt" is in English)

Nice! "the mountain" is the name of a farm at Rauland. Called Berge. Myllarguten could also be translated as the Miller's boy. He was allegedly the son of a miller. :)
