that is cool Giant reached out. Im surprised they didnt offer you one of Blu's bikes to keep.

I think it speaks volumes when a designer/founder/company actually reaches out without some generic answer or motive. How’s the hamstring now after a few days from this video ?

I’ve done quite a few Alfreton Audaxes. Rosie’s used to be an old transport Cafe on the way to Gainsborough (now sadly closed down), which was often used as a checkpoint for these Audaxes, which is where the name comes from. I’ve not done this one, but I have done Roses to Wrags, which goes via Gainsborough to Wragby then back via Newark. There’s a 300k one that goes out towards Skegness and back, it’s called To the Chapel (Chapel St Leonard’s) if you fancy it! Some of the Alfreton Audaxes go west into the Peak District, with a bit more climbing.

I'm totally with you on the helmets. For me, it's a must. It baffles me when I see parents let their kids ride without them.

Belvita soft bakes - always on offer at Tesco @ £1.75 for 5. Individually wrapped, small and thin. 31g carbs, 9g sugar. Taste delicious too as they are soft and easy to eat.

Random comment but be good to see your take on the changes to the available cycling coverage in the uk, and the potentially detriment to the sport due to the impending changes (TNT sports)…. Great video as always, great mix of training and real world issues 😂

Educational video….some people ride in miles (weird) riders make life harder in an Audax by loading the bike with as many bags as they have! All this aside it looks fun and not a bad day for it either. Good job mate 👍

I prefer to drink my fuel (just find it easier) - i bulk buy Maltodextrine and Fructose powders and mix them myself in a tub at home to 1:0.75 and then can load the bottles with the "dose per hour" i want and simply add a electrolyte tablet as i go to each bottle. I also bought a little impulse sealer and some PP/PE bags - load them up and then seal. Easy and cleaner to carry and tear open like the real thing. There is also a good book called Feed Zone Portables - buy that make your own food and then use the pouches and impulse sealer. Label up and freeze stuff - job is a good one.
