Where can we find more info on the Angus Component Library? I'd love to check that out.
@hounder-co2 жыл бұрын
The Angus Component library is a private project for us at the moment, since we are just starting to build it out and still flushing out what it will be capable of. Though once we get it to a good point we will likely open-source it and launch it with the new Hounder Redesign.

So is the only drawback here lack of customixation from relying on whatever api is available?

Hi, When you say content I visualize mainly images and multi media. How are these delivered in a JSON? Could you please share an example. Thanks !!
@DarrenJohn10X2 жыл бұрын
Binary data like rich content can be converted to Base64 to have a JSON-able text equivalent etc.

what is the best headless cms out there??
@hounder-co4 жыл бұрын
You can make the popular open-source CMS' like Drupal or Wordpress into a headless CMS which is a popular choice. If you want to purchase a Headless CMS, Contentful is really nice and easy to use.

Thanks for the simple explanation. What’s the difference between a git-backed CMS and an API-driven CMS?
@hounder-co4 жыл бұрын
great question. There are a few ways the headless CMS can be configured. Either as purely API driven (mentioned in the vid), where the end-user connects to the api from the browser, or it can work by updating content in Git. The concept of headless CMS is still the same since the frontend component is decoupled from the actual serving of the website or app.

Am I missing something!?.... Even now we r fetching data from API... how is it different with Headless?

What is the difference between a headless cms and a decoupled one?
@hounder-co5 жыл бұрын
Good question. They're one in the same. A headless cms simply is a content system decoupled from the presentation layer (templates, layouts, css, html, etc).
@chuntingli67965 жыл бұрын
@@hounder-co So, in a headless cms, templates are not guaranteed to exist, whereas in a decoupled cms, the templates are also decoupled but are still available in a separate location? Thanks!

Does the repo database connect content items to their position on a webpage via say pageId, elementId and elementClass columns on the Contents table of the database ? Then the CSS for that webpage provides the format & styling of content items ?
@a1r5926 жыл бұрын
Best explanation i could find, thanks! So how would formatting work in a headless cms? Do you have any preview of what the content would look like on the actual page?
@hounder-co6 жыл бұрын
Thanks! Really glad it was helpful. Actually yes, I do have a blog post that shows a little bit on how the content is formatted. I am writing a blog that provides all the technical diagrams but here is something in the meantime. notebook.hounder.co/a-cms-that-you-dont-outgrow-a-5-minute-guide-on-how-to-not-suck-at-content-management-6a5751c6f3f5
