I am quite anal about marking wire location. EVERY wire on the harness whether it's controlled or GI is written on painters tape and attached to a wire(including multiple wires on a single location). I mark switch #'s per the manual also...overkill certainly, but i've yet to burn my house down😂 I usually install new bare wire everywhere also so marking is super important. And I also mark location on the playfield in case a wire falls off You took pictures, so your good to go!

Nice! I'm working on the bell and chime on my 67 Magic Town. Can't get the chime to sound right. Coil, sleeve and plunger are all good and work properly. So its something to do with the chime and how it's fastened to the box. Would love to see you rebuild yours. Any chance you can do a video on that?
@MarksBasementArcade
@MarksBasementArcade 7 күн бұрын
I know I rebuilt one on some machine but I can not find it however there are felt washers that are under the chime bar. Just regular felt you get at a craft store cut in circles . This felt usually wears away and that's why you get a dead chime sound. Add a new coil sleeve with 2 new felt washers.

Cool stuff as always. Sorry to get off topic but I have a question. I noticed today while playing my stern galaxy that the game would initiate tilt when the machine wasn't moved or rocked at all. After playing and activating tilt a few more times I noticed that when the right slingshot switch is activated the tilt mode is initiated. I looked under the playfield and found the little piece of Masonite board that attaches the solenoid to the lever is broken and out of position. I dont see how that could make the tilt feature activate since the slingshot switch activates fine every time it's depressed. (After I activate the ball kicker switch) Any help/advice would be greatly appreciated.

Great series of videos, thanks for putting together. I have a Blast Off that I'm trying to figure out what is supposed to happen when you hit the lit upper stand up target. It advances the outlane rollover from 50 points to 100 points on one side and on the other side it advances the 50 points to the special. When you hit the pop bumpers, it alternates the special from one side to the other and also alternates the 100 points to the other side. Is this correct? I found area of schematic that impacts this, but I'm not good at reading schematics. I would have thought it would have advanced to 100, then 300 then special, but am not sure. Thought you might know, thanks!
