I downsized to a new starter home in 202 from a large home with a pool, hit the low market right as COVID locked down and rates dropped, got a 2.875 mortgage rate ZERO POINTS. I'm the one you guys refer to the "golden handcuffs!" I'm not ever selling and if I do my house is updated, new, energy efficient, will have no trouble getting it sold. Market is all timing!!!!!

It is not Renters VS Owners, it is People Who Own Assests VS those that dont There is a lot of crossover but there's no reason a renter couldn't invest in the stock market to make up for it, but 99% of people dont. Also home owners tend to be married at a higher rate, while renters are single. Single people always do worse off financially. If you bring in 10 million people they have to live somewhere basic math, and if there in is not 10 million extra places to live empty and ready to go it is going to cause a few problems from price pressure to even if they are given away there is not enough for everyone in need.

Housing is going to go sky high because illegal aliens they will have your jobs

Local authorities, aka cities and municipalities, have the control of zoning laws they could make areas for affordable housing happen. But they wont because zoning is about maximizing taxable value of properties. Zoning laws are why you just dont ever see small starter type homes being built anymore. Municipalities DONT WANT sub 1,200 square foot homes in their areas.

that was me at the start of looking for stuff , then after i was prepared to pay for certain things i then looked at how much I'd be paying for i terest over the span of my leases, I don't want to buy anything big anymore. House will cost 250k and id be up to 500k because of interest on a city house with visible wear and only 3 bedrooms and barely any yard. Stuff is outrageous.
