I love Metra trains myself. My dad would take me to the Winnetka station in my hometown to watch the trains go pass. I love UP-N and since i move to Indiana, i could watch the NICTD passing by at Michigan City/11th Street.

My father, who passed in 2018, had a major American Flyer S Scale collection and layout. 22’ x 13’. Over 1000 pieces of rolling stock and 100 locomotives. Long gone now, but great memories. He had it from 1953 until 1996.

Nice looking trains but I still prefer the Budd built and Pullman cars.

I'm curious to know: how do you make sure that the train operators do not see you as an obstacle on the track? If I put myself into their shoes, I'd be freaking out to see someone on the tracks. Thanks for answering my question, I do not know much about trainspotting.

It's looking more like the Trump administration will put buses, biking and passenger rail on the chopping block. Well the wealthy have private jets and limos so they see no need for trains. Lean years ahead folks.

The freight train is Swedish - We do not have such old trains in operation in Norway.

All the old trams will be replaced with new EL 18 by December this year (2024). It is great that there are new ones with better capacity and they are much lighter in weight per wheel set

All these old red trains will be replaced on this line in 2025. There will be between 60-200 new sets of Ahlstrom Coradia Nordic train sets.
